The January 2025 Window

Well would you look at that, we’re into the last hours of the window once again without having filled the gaps identified, as per usual.

If the Chillwell deal falls through during the medical, which isn’t improbable, then we’re not going to get LWB cover. We’ll be linked with Diouf for the next four windows just to see him end up at Hoffenheim.

I don’t see why you’d insist of waiting the last day of the window just in order to get “the fair price” as Parish mentioned in an interview a while ago. Being a club in the prem and looming around a player, most likely a focal figure in their club, for weeks surely won’t result in getting the player on the cheap. If a club is to sell said player on the last day of the window without having bought a replacement they aren’t going to sell to a premier league club for anything less than a panic buy premium.

With this transfer strategy we won’t be able to go for Europe as we’ll be unprepared for the new season after a summer window and we won’t be at full strength in January.

I don't think we need to be too concerned about Spurs. The only way Palace come to the table is if someone panicked and offered silly money and the only way Guehi chooses to go to Spurs is if he bangs his head so hard he forgets that they're sh!t.

Edit: stories appearing that Spurs have supposedly bid £70m for Guehi. If that is true (which I doubt) then that might stir things up, although I still have serious doubts that he'd want to go there.

Or Chilwell passes his medical and we spend the cash we have on a centre back having lost Chalobah to Chelsea and Riad to an ACL injury and Parish looks to have played a blinder by not committing early in the window.

That would have to be one serious bang on the head.
If he goes anywhere it's more likely to be Liverpool. Van Dijk is getting older and it seems to be Guehi's preferred option anyway.

f***ing Merson at it again on Sky Sports s***. Saying that Guehi should sign for Spurs now and we should be happy to take the money as otherwise he will dig his heels in come the summer and force a move for nothing when his contract runs out in summer 26. Merson can f*** off. When he gets there he can turn round and f*** off again. Can't stand him. Prick.

So, you're not all that keen on Merson then?

I was thinking wa*nker but we’re both in the same anatomical area as regards our thoughts on him!

Let’s get Merson into our club, I heard he’s available for a bottle of vodka and half a dozen pre-paid betting slips. We can abuse him in person then.

Does anyone else think Guehi will sign a new contract and stay at Palace?
Maybe. Make him top earner, club captain and give him a 5 year contract with £90m buy out clause. He’s a religious man who appears happy where he is and his England prospects as a player have never suffered as a result of playing for us.
