Is the club defrauding loyal supporters?

This thread makes very sad reading for me . The scramble for tickets , season ticket holders who don't go to matches ,ticket re-sales and the cost overall of watching football not to mention the suspicion of the club taking the piss . What the hell has happened to our club , our game ?

The club needs to take back control of ticketing and ban re-sales . If your a season ticket holder and your seat is empty on more than a couple of occasions you lose it .Whatever happened to treating a friend to a freebie ?

Palace benchmarks itself against other London clubs and I believe it's still the cheapest London club for Premier League football.
Still ludicrously expensive off course with many ordinary people priced out.
Apparently Villa are now charging £100 for Champions League games.
There's no going back and prices won't be going down.
The sad thing is the knock on effect with lower level teams also putting up their prices significantly.

Ouch

Supply and demand I guess.

FFP will make this worse as clubs will want to try and maximise the commercial gain of everything, tickets, merch etc

Although at a certain point clubs run the risk of pricing out the local / traditional fan base to the point where they cant afford to attend any more, season ticket sales drop, giving way to a stadium filled with football tourists with allegiances to any club, this might be OK for as long as you remain in the PL / can pretty much fill the ground but that gets harder if you get relegated / fall down the football pyramid & along with lower league opposition become less attractive to watch.

Football clubs do need to be aware of the local support & what they bring to the party because when its gone its difficult to get back.

Oh 100%

A fine balance, that I suspect most clubs get wrong.

I remember getting corp tickets through work years ago to watch PSG at Stanford bridge in the CL. The oddest atmosphere.

100%, there is hell of a difference between a stadium filled with real supporters completely invested in the game & a corporate box where the vast majority are either networking or just enjoying the day out.

Completely agree. Was given two free tickets from a season ticket holder for the Club Circle at Arsenal last season (these are £6000 season tickets). Food and free drinks great, but just no atmosphere at all from this area, dead as a DoDo.

Not so sure about this. The 8 people I have asked at Man Utd and Leicester matches who have paid between £145 and £200 for a ticket were all Palace supporting.

But then here's a question: If someone was to offer you £500 to use your seat for the upcoming Liverpool match, would you take it?
No, I wouldn't as I have to come over from Ireland, pay for flights, accommodation and food and I can only get tickets for one or two matches a year, if I'm lucky. Plus I don't massively need the money.
However, if I lived nearby and saw Palace all the time and a match was a bit inconvenient for some reason, I'd probably sell it unofficially if the club are going to take the piss.
I've had several issues with tickets - international members didn't even know if their request to reserve tickets was successful or not until this season. I made several complaints about it. How could I plan everything without even knowing if my ticket had been reserved or not?
Hilariously, the Box Office and the Membership Office both said they had no idea if a ticket reservation was successful or not. Twice they told me that. Eventually, I got an email telling me I was successful. Obviously they had a way of knowing. What a system.

Why is this so typically Palace!

So there it is, that is not a season ticket owned seat as there are 4 together. You can only buy 2 seats for this grade A game, how have they been able to get 4 of them to put on sale?
As previously said, I logged on at 1 minute past 10 for tickets in the old stand block F, and nothing available.By the time I had then entered for Arthur they had no seats together from myself and my son.

Just thinking aloud - 4 seats together - if you assume that people often buy season tickets in pairs (they go to the game(s) with their other half, relative or mate) you get two pairs of people sitting together on a semi regular basis, chatting, initially about the game & eventually the level of conversation grows beyond that, one week one pair dosent come & someone else is sitting in those seats, the next game the guy (or girl) mentions they sold their pair of tickets online for that specific game & made a tidy profit, his new mate thinks for a while & them asks him for more details & before long they are both doing it - ok I am not sheer luck gnomes but its a plausible theory, lol.

I heard that Aston Villa also have a policy that if a season ticket holder misses 2 games they lose their ticket for the following season (i think Brighton have a similar thing but for a few more games) and you go to the back of the queue.

Their fans are well p1ssed off with the club for many reasons. They also moved a number of fans from their normal seats too.

That sounds a bit draconion to me. What if someone has Covid or the flu and is knocked out for a week, but misses a mid week game and a Saturday game? What about people who can't make a mid-week game due to work or family commitments or can't make a game when it's rescheduled by our Sky overlords? What if someone gets in an accident and is in hospital for a month? I could go on, but you get my point.

I've got a season ticket and I go to as many games as I can, but that's should be my decision on when I go, as it's my ticket bought and paid for. If I miss a game that's my choice and sometimes that's life.

Why does it feel like we're being more and more restricted and told how to do everything these days? It's getting bl00dy ridiculous.

Exactly what was being said when Talksport had someone on there talking about it a while back. It's absolutely crazy!

I think there is gonna be a backlash soon against the clubs as fans groups are getting fed up with how our greedy clubs are treating our fans e.g. West Ham with the no youth tickets or Spurs with limited OAP prices.

Was on at 10am sharp in order to buy Fulham tickets. Absolutely pointless (as it was for the Liverpool game). Only restricted view (at full price) and no way of getting several seats together. The Gold Membership is an absolute con and I can't see how I can get any tickets this season apart from cup games. The new Ticketmaster interactive seat booking system is hopeless and far harder to navigate than the old system. I'll be asking the club to refund my Gold Membership as it is utterly useless.

I totally agree.

I logged on in hope of getting 4 tickets for the Fulham game (as my Son's birthday is 5th Nov) and it's just a joke. Only single seats available instantly.

Really disappointing that this is happening to a club like Palace.

Someone started a thread @ 10.28 for selling his Fulham ticket.
