Yeah it does, it's literally what we were trying to do with Diomande before something stopped us - maybe he wanted Europa League.
Kudus had a release clause of >80m and Tottenham got him a lot lower than that.
The release clause is only there to appease the player so they have a way out of the club. If the selling club is willing to agree to a fee below the release clause, its existence was irrelevant.
With all his injuries, he'd be more like a bed warmer than a bench warmer. He's also on 250,000 a week
Jude Bellingham has a release clause of 1 billion euro. They'd probably take a bit less

Eze & Guehi if both go I could see this destroying the groups moral.
Eze is hard to replace because of what he contributes even when it looks like he is doing nothing for 70min he then can do something suddenly.
I saw some people mentioned about kamada leaving as well which is odd OG still was going to pick him etc and I do wonder if any merit to that story it means the club now knows OG is going at end of the season which might be another reason they want to hold back on spending saving it for the next manager. We all hope it works out mate, and if the 2 players go or not its very late in the window . Yes every window is like Groundhog Day there's no denying it. Losing your best players is hard to take , but it’s part of football. Ask Brentford, Bournemouth,. Palace, haven’t lost anyone yet and there is a good chance they won’t . Only two signings as of yet, Fulham, have one. So having won the cup, from Man Cty , got 51 record points, beat Champions Liverpool in the Community shield just seven days ago and drawn with the World Champions Chelsea, in their back yard today what the f—k is all the moaning about.?

Probably that we are about 4 injuries or suspensions away from losing every week. It’s called squad depth and we don’t have any.
Parish can say to the moaners (including me) that in our last 8 games we've faced Arsenal, Villa, Spurs, Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea and remain unbeaten and won two trophies.
That is truly remarkable by any standards when you look at the disparity in resources from the aforementioned clubs.
We have a special team and manager and want them to continue together as long as possible.
I'm sure this is what Parish wants too, but it's going to be a challenge, and if our best players do go we'll have to do some really smart trading and find a way of retaining the special team bond and spirit.
