Time to start doing Business Steve..!!

Not surprised..!!

So Glasner not signing a new contract, Eze and Guehi going..!!

£3M spent in the window thus far - with 2 weeks left

We already needed 3 players if Eze and Guehi go - means we need 5 players/signings in 2 weeks..!!

With just the scraps to chose from..!!

And people keep saying Parish has a plan - well if this is that plan - it’s bloody awful..!!

Now you know why I said “time to start doing business Steve” a month ago..!!

Now we’re in a real mess..!!
Every man and his uncle knows that! Do you seriously think Parish doesn’t too?

Knowing something and being able to do it aren’t the same. Your targets may be ready, but their clubs aren’t or are deliberately using brinkmanship. So are we with our sales. We haven’t got unlimited resources which can pay the fines if we break the rules. Only when genuinely effective sanctions exist will clubs like ours be able to manage better. We all know why it’s like it is and that nothing wil change unless and until the regulators are themselves regulated.

What happened in the last months has pointed up this issue. We are in the vanguard of reclaiming our game. We must not stop!

Probably that we are about 4 injuries or suspensions away from losing every week. It’s called squad depth and we don’t have any.
Same as last season then . It’s never been much different in fact. Even under Roy, we found a way. Under Glasner, it’s been outstanding with numbers no different to now. I personally would like to see one or two more in ,but if we can’t afford the inflated prices that are being quoted all over the place, even for players not good enough for us, then as long as no one goes in the last few days of the window we will be OK. What we can’t do is panic and buy a couple of £18mill duds for numbers. We are definitely not in a mess, or part of a disaster as some would have it

Cheer up, it may never happen. We have just drawn away at the World Club champions and were unlucky not to win and you still continue being negative.

More than likely will tho, according to sky we've only won, one out of 15 games that eze hasnt featured in, we had no one on the bench who was gonna come on and win us the game, with European football on top, we need to strengthen.

I think it’s clear that SP is out of his depth now, can’t have our best player sitting out first game of the season and not having adequate replacements in, quite frankly it’s embarrassing especially in a season where we have Europe as well. SP has taken the club as far as he can take it. Time to move on now
That post didn't age well.

Clickbait is 99% made up.

I’ve never heard such ‘codswallop” in all my life..!!

Mate other teams are doing business we ain’t - it’s that simple..!!

What rules we are nowhere near breaking ‘PSR” - so what on earth are you going on about..!!

It’s the same window after window - so does SP recognise that - I’m seriously starting to doubt it..!!

Has the possibility not occurred to you that Palace genuinely are strapped for cash during this window because an outgoing owner wanted certain loans repaid pronto as part of his exit? I'm not saying that IS the case only that it wouldn't surprise me if it were so. I'm prepared to give Parish the benefit of the doubt when he says the club has heavy outgoings this financial year, which is making it difficult to do the business the club wants.

It’s just not that simple is it? Other teams aren’t us! Many have owners with unlimited resources that can fund temporary overspends or pick up the fines given to them for breaking the rules. We don’t. We cannot fund incoming transfers unless and until we have agreed sales. Sales of our two most important players who most still hope won’t go. No other team than us has had the uncertainty of which European competition we must prepare for which also has brought uncertainty into the minds of those players who might leave us.

Our club is well run by someone who is like us. A fan. We have a sustainable model with a modern academy, have been in the PL without a break for the longest time in our history and won the FA cup and Community Shield in short order beating the two best teams in England in doing so.

Compared to what existed at Selhurst when I first watched Palace in the 3rd Division South 70 years ago there is nothing to moan about. We have progressed and can still go further.

I agree, Esse was a big money signing, and Rak-saki seems to do well, they need a chance, no point buying players and not playing them, Esse was great at QPR, play him this week in Europe
At Millwall, you mean?

Haven’t been impressed by what I’ve seen so far by JRS, but Esse looked dangerous vs Wolves at the end of last season. Agree he needs some game time and I reckon he’ll come good.

I don’t think the squad depth is as bad as some suggest. Guehi and Eze - if they go - will need to be replaced immediately with big money signings and I’m sure the targets have already been identified and possible terms agreed (my guess is Diomande and Elliot).

Other than that, we need an extra CB and RWB - I don’t see why this can’t be fixed with two season long loans.

We won’t need our strongest 11 for most of the crap we’ll be playing in the CL - certainly in the group stage. It should be seen as opportunity to get more game time for the likes of Esse, Devenny, Riad, Kporha, Franca, Rak Sakyi, Rodney. With some luck, a few of these will speed up their development and provide genuine competition for the strongest 11.

Agree with all that. People have unrealistic expecting about transfer windows. Its not like players are sat on the shelves in B&M with little price tags on that you take to the till job done. Look at the prolonged drama surrounding Eze and Geuhi, we are being as difficult with the clubs wanting to buy them as others clubs will be with our targets. The deals often don't get done as one party walks away or let's the other sweat until near deadline day to drive down the price.
