The bbc, again.

It probably is about time they brought in a younger presenter even if Lineker wasn't always gobbing off about non footballing matters.

The BBC career of Lineker is over ?

The old patronising Lefty radical is dead.

Long-live the new patronising Lefty radical.

BLM /LGBTQ+ /Climate change/ Middle East Politics / Feminism / any other boring subjects to preach at us during football ?

So, you're absolutely certain that the pictures you watched were definitely happened in Springfield?
Not hard to set up pictures and attribute them to what/where you want them to be.

If this video does indeed exist, you'd think the news industry, somewhere in the world, would have been able to get their hands on it. I mean, wouldn't you? then they could air them (in edited form, of course): what's the big problem with that? Hmmm.

"Trump was likely exaggerating somewhat, it's what he's like."

Well, how forgiving of you. How tolerant you are of these little things. Just saying.
I'd already said, I didn't know where they are. If you want to watch videos of people catching pets and killing them, then knock yourself out. I told you they exist, everyone's seen them. Ask your own mates. If it seriously matters if they're in Springfield, then next time I'll ask them to take a photo of their Google maps while they're doing it. One of the videos was even on here so loads on here saw it. You're calling me a liar now several times. What kind of reaction do you want?

Various comments in the media about how badly the BBC is treating Lineker "He doesn't deserve this" "loyalty" etc.

None of these stories though mention that Lineker is not an employee of the BBC as he and they have mentioned many times which is how he can maximise his tax returns. So as he is a contractor and provides a service to the BBC why should they show him any loyalty.

It does look like his reign is coming to an end. Some may say this is unfair and it's politics within the BBC but MOTD since it's inception has refreshed it's presenters and pundits. A good section of MOTD viewers will only know Lineker for his crisp adverts and not his playing days.

It probably is about time they brought in a younger presenter even if Lineker wasn't always gobbing off about non footballing matters.
According to this piece posted up on the bbc sport/culture/news pages contract negotiations have now started to renew his contract. So, to me that means he is employed by them . . . Gary Lineker says BBC contract talks over Match of the Day have 'just started'

You would think that however according to a judge he is a freelancer.

I now think the noise from the BBC is just a negotiating strategy, they want to cut his salary so the leaked threats that his contract might not be renewed.

This makes a lot more sense.

No surprise he talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. Like the immigrant that lived with him. Yeah right, highly believable.
He even started Match of the Day with a Kamala love in and a joke about Trump. What that had to do with Premier League football is anyone's guess. I would sack him for that. But the BBC wouldn't sack a multiple child murderer judging by their recent record. Not if their political views were correct.
The obvious conclusion is that Jenas is straight and doesn't believe in white guilt or privilege. Think about it for a minute and they'll be begging for Ian Wright but will end up with more of Alex Scott in their race to obscurity.
Talk about switching off in droves. I only watched it as I went to the match with a mate who always watches it.
I've got better things to do, like the vacuuming or arranging my spice rack.

Spice Rack would have been a better name than Spice Girls.

Someone on hol hilariously pointed out how Alex Scott pronounces longer words as if she’s reading them for the first time.

I know many don’t , but I don’t mind Karen Carney on itv as a pundit but she’s not presenter material.

Just have Mark Chapman or someone. The presenter doesn’t have to be an ex footballer.

Although to be fair Lineker has become a bit of dip-stick over the years, full of his own self importance. I'd like to see the back of him.

What the hell?!?

Of course it seriously matters. That's what the whole thing is about: it's the case of Trump reporting it happening in Springfield, not about the general eating habits of Haitians.

'Calling me a liar' is a bit over the top. I'm saying that it's so easy to replicate and spread these things when they are unproven. Isn't that the point?

I ask again: if this/these videos have been seen by half the world, how come no news organisation in the World has found it/them and shown the wider public. Equally, perhaps one of 'those on here' can direct me to the whereabouts.

No?

I assume you know how to use the search engines provided by the internet. Ok.

The BBC singularly fails to report anything bad about Labour.
While many other news channels report lots of stuff, the Beeb just doesn't.
Read anything about the boats recently and the numbers arriving every day - no, I didn't think so.
Pro Hamas and anti-Israel - they are an absolute disgrace to news reporting.
Defund the BBC

I have a small issue with your line here.

So you recognise that this happens in Haiti (and its well known elsewhere in the world) and presumably you also recognise that many Haitians have migrated illegally into America since the Biden administration.

So rather than a denial that these backward cultures (just allowed into the country) include people who will treat pets and local animals like swans as prey items your issue is that there's no direct proof that this happened in Springfield?

Now, there are links to videos showing this practice on this very forum, for the sensitive it's quite upsetting to watch. However, if your point is that Trump might have vocalised rumours about what was happening there rather than cite direct evidence then I can sympathise with that contention.

What I can't relate to is a denial that this happens and that this unfettered democrat position on immigration is nothing but a disaster for many communities in America.

Both candidates are guilty, as are pretty much all major politicians, of various degrees of lying to the public and pushing half truths. Trump is no different to Harris in that regard. It comes down to who's lies and half truths you can stomach and which candidate is better for the US and the world itself.

Harris for example has directly lied on Trump abortion and IVF positions when its well known its not a keystone issue for him. Also she lies on Project 2025 when Trump has had nothing to do with it.....unfortunately....as while I haven't read all of it, what I did read I quite liked.

I’m not sure Haiti would be my first choice of places to visit with its rampant crime, voodoo witchcraft and nasty pet eating habits. It can’t be a healthy environment for a child to grow up in. As world cesspits go, it has to make the shortlist and no wonder people want to get the hell out.

i'm guessing you have no idea what the IR 35 regulations are.

I have previously been employed in short term contracts and as such signed say 6 month contracts. I got paid x per day on the days i worked. I got no holiday or sick pay and i could be dismissed at short notice.
The company paying me avoided paying employer national insurance as i was not classed as an employee.
I paid tax through my own company - paying both income tax and corporation tax.

This is essentially how Lineker appears to be employed.

IR 35 would class me as an employee and would tax me accordingly. However, i don't get the other benefits that direct employees get. Furthermore i would have to pay the employer NI (over 13%) on top of the employee NI and income tax. So you are an employee for tax purposes only.

Seems unfair to me

No denial of that at all. My direct point is the dissemination as 'truth' of an unsubstantiated rumour by the potential president of the United States.

Ok, punters, like some on here, are happy to promote such rumours because it suits their agenda. I would, though, expect much, much more from somebody who is running for political office. Not that the Trump campaign cares about objectivity for it will carry on repeating the mistruth, regardless of its veracity. That's what he does.
