Reform

Make the courses more accessible for British people? Instead of universities relying on the income from foreign students - fund these particular courses centrally? I think Reform even mentioned something similar on their list of points or whatever it was called.
The income from the overseas students helps to subsidise the costs of the home students who would pay higher fees without them. Unless, of course, we changed the whole system again to bursaries rather than loans which is what you seem to be proposing.

I think you can make an argument for that for medical professionals but am not convinced that it would produce more applicants. For doctors the loans aren’t a big deal because the ultimate salaries are good. I don’t know what the answer is. We just don’t seem to have enough people prepared to put in the years of study required. For nurses bumping up the starting salary and offering bursaries would work.

Last night I had the pleasure of meeting some of my Conservative cronies over a tipple or two.
The discussion gallivanted on to 'Reform' and the party were placed in the pillory and were on the receiving end of unrelenting invective.
Certainly no chance of any defectors amongst our merry band of Tories !

Compared to Reform the Tories still represent a much safer pair of hands. Even if I wouldn’t trust your judgement to pick its leader. You chose Truss and wanted Jenrick. Not wise!

However no party whose Leader shows even a modicum of enthusiasm for the current US President has the slightest chance of gaining power. Let alone Farage. They will gain seats in the local elections and do well in bye elections but unless they distance themselves from Trump, whilst continuing to pay respect to the office he holds, they have no chance at a GE.

Yeah, but you know....

They only care about their house price.....the party of Cameron and May.

If 'don't touch my knee' Julia Hartley-Boomer supports you....

27 percent? A proper party would be at 40 against Starmer......who's about as popular as a hairy chest at the Guardian headquarters.

He’s actually more popular than Farage amongst the whole population.

Yeah, I don't know if you have been taking notice of recent events Dan but your hero has been playing the chest thumping 'lets beat Russia' card (without actually committing to anything) with the full backing of the state run media for a couple of months now.

Whereas Farage has been damaging his approval within his own party.

Just pointing that he’s actually more popular in this country than the leader of the party who is supposed to dispose him next election.

Just because you view him less favourably than Putin doesn’t mean the rest of the country does.

You can cope as much as you like Dan.

Reform are literally a party that's two years old and here is you picking out brownie points for Starmer all based upon him waffling about foreign wars.

Just watch your liar of a hero drop like a stone once he starts stripping money from the disabled.

It’s as inevitable at the moment as it is meaningless in the context of a GE that’s not due until 2029.

Indeed it will be welcomed by the established parties as it forces Reform to actually parade its true colours and I doubt they will look quite so attractive once the light shines upon them.

Selling jam tomorrow and green grass over the hedge is always easy. Running a council isn’t.

Well having an extra 5% from council tax will help I’m sure.
