Our present squad

One of the reasons for our struggles this season so far is that we have no Olise working with Eze. We haven't replaced him with a like for like, so stop trying to play in the same way. Nkeitiah want's to play further up, so why not a variation of 5-2-3 which instead of

-- AW -- CD --
EN --------EE
------JPM

we simply repivot the front 3 allowing EN a higher role

-- AW -- CD --
------EE
--EN-----JPM

On the surface, this looks like all creativity is reliant on Eze, but with AW pushing up from time to time (covered by one of the back 3) the wing backs providing the width, or even helping infield sometimes, it's not so much pressure on Eze.
A more Fluid team shape which will change between 532, 352, 4222 and 433 when required, and about covering others, not being so positionally rigid.

Do we think that Chalobah, although not on a option to buy, will eventually sign for us, as Mitchell shows no sign of signing a new contract, Swappsies, Guehi and Mitchell for Chalobah and Chilwell, wages obviously a problem, but i think it would be good for us, Transfrermkt values, Guehi 38m, Mitchell 25m 🤔 Chalobah 13m, Chillwell 28m, think its more likely 65m, 15m, 20m, 20m, respectively
I think he will sign for us if he has a positive loan. I suspect that this was verbally agreed with Chelsea at time but was not part of contract due to time constraints. Guehi according to rumours has little to no interest in Chelsea. Rumours are he is unhappy with the way that former colleagues have been treated and having Chalobah at club (because of his experience ) is unlikely to change that. Chilwell time will tell but I suspect his contract will either be terminated in January and he will be a free agent or we will buy Chalobah in January and free up loan space. I think Mitchell will sign a new improved contract (I don't think offer has been made) as he appears happy , is getting match time and the big 6 are not really interested

For tomorrow’s game Doucoure is out (Glasner said he won’t be fit for a few weeks), and Chaloboah and Franca are still out , although they will be training next week.
Wharton is fit but was rested during the week as his fitness is being managed.

Man United’s main threads are done the sides where they have rapid options and they counter attack effectively, which we have been vulnerable to this season.
Both Lacroix and Richards have shown weaknesses when dragged out of their comfort zone to defend wide against speedy opponents.
A game for Clyne in my view.

We looked all over the place in the first half, Kamada and Mateta need time off just play the front 3 of Sarr Eddie Eze and go with Wharton and Lerma or Hughes in CM, The gaffer seems to rate Kamada but he's not up to it IMO

Is Wharton fit? It will be a big miss if he isn’t. Whatever you think of Richards I think his better aerial presence compared to Clyne will be important against Everton.

You'd leave Mateta out, just as he's starting to find some form? And having banged in something stupid like 20 goals in 20 games for us? Weird.

Our back 3 need time together so Richards, Lacroix and Guehi for me with our usual 2 wing backs. DM is a problem with injuries. Lerma must be good to go but it anyone’s guess who goes beside him. I suspect it’ll be Kamada again, though I feel for the guy as it’s not his best position.
Up front is about partnerships. Sarr and Eze look promising together while Eddie and JP haven’t clicked so far. Eddie is probably better more centrally. I’d start with Sarr and Eze playing behind Eddie. Hughes and JP to come on later with Kamada moving forward if we need a goal. Sorted! COYP!

Olise has gone, Wharton is out of form/injured, and Eze’s form is patchy.

These 3 were instrumental in Mateta’s burst of form last season.
They provided the bullets for him to fire.
This season he has had minimal service with barely any chances created for him.
We are not pressing high like the end of last season and Mateta is not receiving the ball in and around the penalty area.
Hence we are seeing the Mateta that we saw under Roy - not really contributing, lumbering aimlessly and lacking threat.

Get the ball into him, like we did v Norwich, and he will finish.
Play 20 yards deeper and provide no service (as has been the case for most of this season) he will fail.

Need Richards in against Everton's height

Reflects my POV.

JMP need service and early, he vary fairly wants to even take a touch. First time finish specialist.

And now Nketiah isnt looking to cross, he's looking to drive at goal. Eze isnt direct enough, and Munoz very rarely crosses. To be fair to him, TM is the only one who regularly crosses.

I'm not saying i would necessarily drop him (yet) but watching Richards on Saturday, particularly in the first half, i was amazed at how poor he is on the ball - he looked like he was scared of it, and his distribution was woeful.

As it is now his 3rd season with us and he is now the USA captain i was hoping he would mature into the role. If anything he appears to be going backwards.

Maybe playing him on the right side of the 3 might help him as he is very right footed.

Not completely excusing him, but....sometimes when defenders look poor on the ball its due to a lack of decent options.

I remember at least twice where Guehi has his arms in the air (when on the ball) to say 'where is my pass'. Utd were pressing really well

The club have just done a photo shoot at Selhurst with both the men's & women's 1st teams, no Rob Holding . . .

Wow, no idea where the 'german' came from.

I saw somewhere that he questioned why he was expected to do sprints in training. What we Scots would refer to as thinks he’s Billy big baws!
Dont see why we cant send him back to Arsenal and get a refund under the goods and services not fit for purpose act (Consumer rights act 2015) "You are entitled to a refund if the goods are not able to be used for the purpose intended or are not as described "

Arsenal "Rob is dependable and reliable , composed and tough in the tackle .Rob is also a natural leader "

If only 🙄

I wholeheartedly agree with this analysis.
