New Manager Planning

The idea that we should rush to get rid of a manager of Glasner's pedigree for Liam bloody Rosenior is frankly ridiculous.

If there are any conditions under which Glasner will extend, the club should be pouring all resources into achieving that.
Wholeheartedly agree

Teams of our size and pedigree have a limited amount of time to become a 'permanent' addition to the PL. You either grow, (invariably with investment) and become one of the big players (see Man City, Toon), or you eventually become undone as you're big guns move on or even retire (Saints, Leicester), and your recruitment model fails to deliver adequately. History is littered with stable mid table PL Teams who've come undone and disappeared into the depths of the league.

We're in a position now, that we're overperforming, our Stars are slowly being sold off, and it seems that the recruitment isn't replacing them well enough.

OG is the difference here. With him at the helm I have no doubt that at the very least our fall from grace wont be all that bad, and we'll be able to remain in the mix. But without him and with the imminent loss of MG and possibly AW, then it's a lot less clear. Our survival may be in the hands of the Scouts, and the recruitment department.

Lets keep riding the OG wave for as long as we can.

Simon Jordan commented "It is obvious he is leaving".
I suppose that when a manager has only 6 months to run on his contract and is vocal about being less than happy with the support he has received in the Transfer Market, I understand why such a conclusion is reached.
Simon Jordan detests Steve Parish and will never miss an opportunity to stir it while acting like he is simply playing devil's avocate.
There is nothing 'obvious' about Oliver Glasner's future. He might leave yes. He also might just be trying to give the owners a kick up the backside in time for January 1st.
As Glasner said not too long ago, he cannot reject a contract until one has been offered. I expect the club to make him an offer this side of Christmas. Only then will we know more.
Simon Jordan is bitter as well as jealous of the club's success and how it has thrived beyond his dreams since he almost bankrupted himself as well as the club.

It's not what Jordan has said.
We've all heard with our own ears what Glasner has said.
The relationship with the board has clearly broken down, at least where transfers and makeup of the squad is concerned.

This isn't to apportion blame.
Sometimes managers and owners have conflicting views/objectives and this leads to an inevitable parting of the ways.
Rubbish, all Glasner was doing was venting. He was frustrated at the end of a game we should have won if finishing was better and we were at our best.
It wouldn't surprise me if next time he's interviewed he explains that he was just annoyed at the result. Glasner is a winner. Failing to win when he believes we should have done is the best way to get him into a bad mood.
Its a massive leap to claim his relationship with the board has broken down over a couple of comments about the summer transfer spending.

So it would seem - watch his presser earlier today.

I wouldn’t take anything that Simon Jordan of all people says as gospel.

If the two-bob Alan Sugar knockoff says it’s obvious he’s leaving, I’m even more convinced he’s staying.
Agreed - but the specificity in that little snippet in amongst all the bluster was interesting.

I was surprised by his comments post match. I can't remember exactly when, but I think it was then end of last season when he said in interview he was not concerned about the european games with our squad size and he liked a tight knit squad and didn't see fatigue of 2 matches a week as issue.

I very much hope this is the case.

You can see how OG might be thinking "I've gone along with the discussions before previous windows. How those have panned out has been pish poor. The definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results. So before this window I'm going to up the stakes."

This raises an interesting point for me. We see players all the time either well or poorly advised by agents. Often this results in "come and get me" rhetoric from players via their agents or directly. I wonder if managers generally, and OG specifically, have advisors in the same way.

Rubbish in your opinion.
Before mouthing off watch today’s press conference .
Watch his interviews in the summer.
Essentially the club has ignored his advice and broken commitments.
That may constitute a good relationship around transfers in your eyes but it doesn’t to me.
He acknowledges that he was frustrated by the two recent defeats and says that frustration was borne out of the fact that he can’t help the players more and he points out how he’s having to play some players nearly every minute.
He mentions again about needing players, but adds the proviso that they have to ‘be in the right position and have the right profile.’
This is not personality driven or a battle of egos with Parish.
He’s the ultimate professional and the question he’s posed the board is do you want to go backwards?
He says he’ll sleep well either way as it’s not about him, it’s about what’s best for the club.
Perhaps you should do some research before attacking other posters who hold a different view to you.

what concerns me about that interview after the game is how fed up he was, he isnt stupid he would have known what his comments would cause.
He again must know due to FP rules and the size of our club we cant got out and spend £60 million on the next Messi, so whats the real issue or is he trying to stop us (the fans) blaming him when he leaves??

He did say that. He also went on to say that brining in too many senior players cuts off the pathway for our promising youth players.

Dont put words in my mouth I never said that. You're now just making things up.
We'll agree to disagree. You be a drama queen. I'll actually listen to what the man says. Like today.
'This has nothing to do with Oliver Glasner. If we sign no players in January or if we sign 5 players I am happy. I am simply advising the club if we want to play a great season'
Yeah, really sounds like his relationship with the board has broken down. Whatever mate.

Unfortunately, he is making it all about him, it appears he thinks that he isn't at fault for any defeat and it's the boards fault. He trains the players, picks the team and sets the formation of play. He doesn't fancy players, he makes it fairly obvious and doesn't appear to want to work with them to improve.
He has done a great job, but he has his faults.

It was not my intention to hurt your feelings which I know are on the tad sensitive side.

You carry on believing that he's happy that the players he was promised early in the window in the summer did not arrive, that he feels that the current squad don't need help and that he has been denied players he could use to drive the excellent season he believes we're capable of.

My last word and I'll leave you to inhabit your fantasy land and ignore his utterances which have all been made not only directly after games, but also in the cold light of day.

Did you write ten thousand Mills & Boon books?
The names have been altered to protect the innocent.
Actually after I wrote it I realised the subtle message of the final passage, whereby the model of the new stand is a metaphor for Parish's hopes, and the rail depot, which is seen as a place of arrival, and departure. Possibly Glasner's. Pretty deep stuff...

I think it's highly unlikely Glasner will stay.

The January transfer window is likely to be an indication of whether Parish wants to back the current man or keep his powder dry for the next one.

As for a new man - well, Leroy Rosenior has a lot of plus points.
Leroy Rosenior is a great shout!!

Leroy Rosenior is a great shout!!
Rosenior took up the reins at Hull, season 2022-23 after 18 League games with the club in 21st place.
Hull ended that season in 15th place.
The following season, Rosenior guided Hull to a 7th place finish but departed the club due to a difference in football philosophy with the owner.
The following season (Last season) , Hull finished in 21st place.

We are in the top 25 in the world for incoming revenue.

The whole we don't have money is nonsense we do it's all about filling up the boards pockets and playing it safe.
Yes, but the chasm between our group of middling clubs and those occupying the top tier is vast.

The imbalance of wealth is destabilizing.
