New Manager Planning

He did say that. He also went on to say that brining in too many senior players cuts off the pathway for our promising youth players.
We haven't seen hardly any evidence of this which is a great shame. The academy teams seem to have a number of players being spoken highly of, but are never risked at first team level from what i have seen. Now Sarr is out for an extended period, could we see one of our youngsters tried out as a right forward tonight? I hope so.

Ollie is a very passionate and emotional guy - he will continue to “vent” post match when he is overwhelmed with disappointment and we all ought to expect that by now.

I just don’t see him doing anything other than seeing out his contract to the end of the season.

Let’s not overlook the fact that whilst the board may not have been able to provide the financial backing in the transfer market- they certainly have backed him in the early days of his tenure when results were not good - “Big clubs” tend to be less patient. Ollie is not a fool - he will recognise that.

If in the coming weeks the club can show the kind of ambition that we all have been craving for so many years- maybe, just maybe Ollie will commit to a new deal and we will continue to see our fantastic club fulfil it’s potential.

I recall a press conference towards the end of the transfer window where he had a big grin on his face, saying that although the signings are coming in late, we at least now have the ones he wants and needs and is satisfied with the squad size.

Furthermore, in his interview with Woosnam of the Athletic after yesterday's presser, Glasner stated that he had agreed every inward transfer since he's been here. Make of that what you will.

Where is new Director,Woody Johnson??
Thought he had significant financial clout to invest in our project.

Seem to remember fans of his US franchises warning that they didn't like him and he's there to make money, not to spend it.

Frankly that ties in with US owners in general I think. If you want to spend money you need middle eastern owners whilst turning a blind eye to human rights atrocities.

That being said, our second half against United was an atrocity anyway.

It was not my intention to hurt your feelings which I know are on the tad sensitive side.

You carry on believing that he's happy that the players he was promised early in the window in the summer did not arrive, that he feels that the current squad don't need help and that he has been denied players he could use to drive the excellent season he believes we're capable of.

My last word and I'll leave you to inhabit your fantasy land and ignore his utterances which have all been made not only directly after games, but also in the cold light of day.
🤣 Far more significant people have failed to do that, sorry to disappoint. You really think that an 'ooh I'm sorry I hurt your feelings' is a grown up dig? Dear oh dear, Long way to go.

If OG says he is happy, I'd rather believe him than you. As I mentioned before, he might leave in the summer. Of course he might. It is niave and childish to claim his relationship with the board has 'broken down' when all the evidence you have is a brief rant after losing a game we should have won.
Your last sentence makes no sense, I suggest you either reread or learn how to write.

I think it's highly unlikely Glasner will stay.

The January transfer window is likely to be an indication of whether Parish wants to back the current man or keep his powder dry for the next one.

As for a new man - well, Leroy Rosenior has a lot of plus points.
Leroy hasn't managed anyone for about 20 years. What makes you think is suitable to replace Glasner?

I make of that he crap at assessing players, oh no sorry, Grumpymort said he had no input.

Can you not read?

I suppose in your bubble you read things how you want to.

Listen to words and interviews never believe anything that is written press.

I had already stated the past window he had to have a bit more input.

Go and learn how clubs operate.

Glasner has left his previous 2 jobs after falling out with the director of football in one case and the board in the other , citing a failure to invest. In one case his club captain said he was glad to see the back of him. If he leaves Palace with the same gripe it’ll be interesting to see which clubs are prepared to take a punt on him. He should be careful not to get a reputation… or maybe he already has.

We'll probably hear more about his time here when he's gone. I have a feeling there's been quite a bit. Dougie, not even for starters.

Im actually pretty optimistic about january, i think the board are gonna pull it out the bag, we will see some big signings, with the manager backed heavily. Wether thats enough to make glasner stay, who knows.

I don't see any problem with the board and manager clashing heads if its with the intention of what's best for the club, even if Glasner leaves, a great season only enhances his reputation, it makes no sense to either for the club to fail.

His called the board out publicily, now its their turn, thanks for a great first half of the season, here's the money, here's the signings, now its back on you to go and deliver.

I have just witnessed a 'Porker' in the sky. 😀

Well, at the other end of the table the board gave Sam Allardyce money we didn't have in a January window. Luca, PVA and Sako all arrived for big money.
This time we are not threatened with relegation (feels nice saying that) but we do have headroom on FFP spend, we do have money and its about showing a bit of ambition.
With a little bit of extra investment we could match the season we had last year and claw most of the investment back via ticket sales, TV money, etc etc.

So why shouldn't they back Glasner? He's shown them what he can achie with what we have. Lets challenge him to achieve more with a few more players.

I think it was Schlupp, but i agree with what you are saying, its irrelevant what any one thinks of OG, we are 5th and in an easyish European tournament, if you are not going to gamble a bit now, you never will.

We may not have PL PSR issues but we may have Uefa FFP ones. I'm not saying we do, but our overall squad costs including agents' fees etc were at the 70% ceiling not long ago and Parish did say something about having large payments to make in this financial year for players bought in previous windows.

Having said that, I do expect the board to spend some money in January but how much may depend on our Uefa FFP wiggle room.

If we cancel Uche, and loan Esse, does that give us more wiggle room?
