Is the club defrauding loyal supporters?

Indeed, protecting their trade secrets i.e. acting as mercenary ticket touts

I was actually going to say - Perhaps he has been recruited as the clubs inside man (inside the stadium on match day) to scope out the regular supporters from tourists & making note of the relevant seat numbers involved.

lol.....I could do that.....in fact to a certain extent I have been all season...... would they offer me some of the extra tickets they have in recompense

That would be the one consolation if we did slip through the trap door, your crusade about the tickets won’t be a problem anymore, Tuesday night home to Preston, you couldn’t give them away🤣
I do love watching Palace pitting themselves against teams in Premiere League.....but very fond memories of midweek evening fixtures in the old 2nd and 3rd division against teams like Mansfield Town.

Oh dear have I made this a crusade for myself.....don't think this was my original intention

Yes the memories of losing 0-1 to Grimsby and many others on a Tuesday night run deep, these tourists won’t know what they’re missing 😀

At least they won't have to all huddle together on a bare terrace, trying to share communal body heat as the temperature hits -2 and the fog starts rolling in, which is how I seem to remember Tuesday's v Grimsby on the Holmesdale end.....

Before the Valley was reduced in size Charlton could be a strange place to visit. It felt as though you could hunt deer on their terraces.

There was something very ‘grim’ indeed about Tuesday night matches against poor opposition. I never used to like to miss games having paid for a season ticket, however Tuesday nights were sometimes the exception. Needless to say there were few friends down the local clamouring for the free ticket.

At least we had a roof in the new stand(Arthur) terracing back in the day

Kolinko’s fcuk up against Grimsby summed up Tuesday nights perfectly

Those were the days though, at least you knew everyone in the ground those nights were proper mugs erm I mean palace fans 🤣

Were they all out on day release? 😳🤣

My uncle and grandad are/were Charlton and apparently that old massive terrace could hold 30,000 alone back in my grandads day
The capacity was over 70,000 at one time. Don't know what it was in the 60s/70s but it was still a huge place. It was a long bus ride home too.

I remember going there for a random game in the early 80’s, the crowd was only 2000 odd and that terrace was a mass of rusty iron and over grown weeds and bushes, I think it was a couple of years before it was closed down and they shared with us

My vivid memories from the time are walking to the ground up Thornton Heath High Street from Carew Road with my Dad, clutching his hand tight. Standing on a freezing Whitehorse Road Terrace crunching on discarded monkey nut shells under foot and the glorious smells of folk smoking.
