Is the club defrauding loyal supporters?

I know, but after 12 pages zzzzz I thought it needed mentioning again 😀

The point of the thread was asking if the club is stitching loyal fans up? Well the answer is still NO

No it didn't, in fact don't know why you bothered mentioning it 1st time because its got nothing to do with the thread.

Well you are wrong.....the club know it too, which is why they are now offering full refunds on Gold Memberships and Season Ticket Plus Memberships. All you have to do is ask. I know of half a dozen who have had refunds already.

I've just looked on livefootballtickets for tickets for Fulham this weekend. There are dozens of tickets available. They even have 2 separate listings of "5" tickets together in the Arthur Wait. These have never been available for actual fans on the Palace/Tickemaster site. It's disgraceful.

I'm the same as everyone else, to go to the football with my son, means buying tickets close to each other and hoping we can shuffle a few people around. Or we sit alone.

And it's not just for Cat A games, it's every game.

If your correct, then certainly the club offering refunds on Gold / Season+ (& presumably international) memberships indicates that there is a problem, the club acknowledge that & are doing whatever they can to rectify the situation starting by this initial course of action, i.e refunds (quite frankly with the best will in the world there isnt much else that they could have done in this situation)

Whether the club themselves are complicit in something more sinister in my eyes remains to be seen, but for sure I am fully prepared to believe that the lucrative returns for those individuals selling tickets to / through online platforms & some form of ticket hoovering up technology is at the heart of it -

Hopefully behind the scenes there is a full investigation & the results of that action become known / situations become rectified -

Maybe I am being naïve but I think this issue goes far beyond Palace & indeed any other PL clubs / substantial entertainment venues experiencing similar issues, its become more of an issue in football where season tickets prevail which you dont see (or see less of) at entertainment / one off / limited venue / dates performances.

Surely the club would spot this straight away and be able to do something about it unless they are complicit.

Well there is a wider problem with tickets going on resale at ridiculous amounts, but it's such a wider problem that there should be things in place to stop this, especially as we're using Ticketmaster. For some reason it's worse this season now we're using them, as tickets are pretty much impossible to get with the Gold Membership and I hardly think it's our sparkling, champagne football that is drawing the crowds in.

Specifically though the club shouldn't be flogging these if they know there's a problem and giving people refunds because they can't get tickets, is just proving that they're effectively useless.

If you look at this link: 2024/25 Gold Membership - Crystal Palace F.C.

The main problem is this:

Match tickets are expected to be in record demand this season, so make sure you are first in line to secure the best available seats at Selhurst to watch the lads in action. Gold Members enjoy exclusive 72-hour ticket access for home games, including the very biggest clashes against Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Brighton & Hove Albion.

As that's not what's happening at all. If the Gold Membership didn't include this, then it would be more accurate what they're flogging.

It's not the most important thing in the world right now, but I can't abide it when people flog stuff on promises they can't keep and then shrug their shoulders with a "dunno mate" when challenged about it.

Bit like Franca's Ballon d'Or clause really.

Exactly, 100% agree with this,

Fair enough, point taken, but I just think it’s the ‘defrauding’ part I had an issue with, maybe mistakes have been made that need correcting, but defrauding? This is the club that have always given me, going back donkeys years, very affordable season tickets and I didn’t like the word defrauding

Agree with this.
I don't.

As previously mentioned, the thread is not about the season tickets. they are good value for money.

The thread is about an exclusive purchasing option sold by the club, for Gold and Season Ticket Plus members. Yet there are tickets for sale on reseller sites that were never available in those exclusive windows.

I work a lot of weekends, otherwise I'd get a season ticket, but it's not worth my while, I'm only able to go to 6 or 7 home games a season. Up until the last year or so, I was able to buy 2, 3 or 4 tickets together somewhere in the ground. This is no longer the case.

It's not about the season ticket!!

Me and my boy have STs and ST+ so I can get extras for family and friends. I managed for spurs for example. But I am quick and watch the on sale dates. People may be missing the actual first on times. Games against mid table teams I have not struggled with at all.

In the other hand I have noticed a lot of non regular fans at higher teams’ games - united, spurs, etc…. So deffo a lot of folks are buying tickets on the secondary markets.

My understanding is that loyal supporters have an option to buy the chance to buy tickets before they go on general sale, these are the supporters whose friends and younger people they know will become the next generation of supporters. Taking those people to games is conditional on being able to sit together. From what I have read this currently not available to those loyal supporters.
Two thoughts
Is there a non UK website, saying that rather than going to a prestige stadium and watching football with no atmosphere the opportunity is available for groups (perhaps as a stag party) to see football as it used to be with all the delights of the Arthur Waite bogs?
I have heard that it is possible for every seat to be viewed by CCTV. A comparison of people sitting in particular seats over the nineteen home matches would be informative to the Club. Selection of those seats by the same people every time would be an indication that non CPFC attendance packages are being organised.

So presumably you do not have a season ticket. So exactly how many tickets or indeed pairs of tickets have you purchased this season? I might add making a valid complaint is not crying about it.
I don't have an ST now no, living in Spain restricts having one, tho, I have held one for approx 27 years if that counts. Oh, & as a now disabled member your comments do not apply.

So....sounds like you have a gold membership, and not tried to purchase tickets this season. Is that right? I don't know, but if so what a waste of a membership fee......then again perhaps not as they are next to useless anyway. Not sure what you being disabled has got anything to do with this thread.

How magnanimous of you. If you were disabled, you'd know. No, my Gold Membership was, is, a god send & yes, I have purchased tickets this season, your permission is not required.

Your original postings is valid, don't sulley that, you have more people who agree with you including me, than you think. I fervently hope you are in contact with the club about this instead of a whingeing on here.

The more people who are affected & contact/complain to the club will, hopefully get the right outcome.

Well actually I am disabled myself and still don't get what you are on about. So not really magnanimous at all in jest or all seriousness, My permission is not required, what are you rambling on about, just trying to establish exactly how much benefit you have derived from your gold membership. As I have said there is a difference between crying / whingeing and having a valid cause for complaint.
If you read the whole thread you will see I have been in contact with the club, CPISA and Local Trading Standards Officers.

Good. As for the rest, meh. Enjoy your w/e & let's hope for a positive result tomorrow.
