Eze has failed to impress on his last few games. His absence was not a factor in this defeat.
For once, with regard to Eze, I don’t think anyone would disagree. It was a game lost in the defence pure and simple. I don’t think his presence would have made any difference.Eze has failed to impress on his last few games. His absence was not a factor in this defeat.
Probably made it easier to bear by removing the small hope that's there when he's playing.Eze has failed to impress on his last few games. His absence was not a factor in this defeat.
Only better as they took their chances, equal shots on target, we had more shots but are just s*** at converting. JPM 1 and sarr 2 should have scored these.Sometimes you have got to hold your hands up and say the better team won, sadly it has happened twice in a week against the same side. We didn’t defend well on Wednesday or today and we need to learn from what happened especially on this afternoons showing.
Let’s move on and accept a lesson learnt….
A greed here with your pronouncement . We are not a bad FC at all and the only real disparity between "two footballing teams" on show this afternoon was that they toasted their goal attempts correctly. We’re not a bad side. We didn’t take our chances tonight and our defence had a poor evening. Olly felt having a go at them was the right option and it didn’t work out tonight. I agree we could do with a couple of signings in January and we need Wharton and Eze playing well again. I still think we finish around 10th 11th
A good summary. You were watching the same game I was obviously.Posters saying the whole team were awful and Glasner was naive need to keep their toys in their pram. Richards and Clyne had poor games, we played some good positive stuff but just couldn't convert whereas they were clinical - the result flatters them 2-4 would have been a fairer reflection, but they are a very, very good side, we weren't generally poor but our defending was, Richards has been out for ages and was rusty and the solid back three was disrupted. One crumb they turned into a cake was when a slightly overhit pass went to Lerma in midfield so he couldn't kill the ball, it bounced about six inches from his foot on the halfway line and before he could take a second touch in a flash the ball was taken off him and they were bearing down on our goal. We were too open but we competed with them and were not unlucky to be 3-1 down but we matched them for much for the first hour and had several good chances to make it 2-3 - when it was 1-3 it did not reflect the balance of play, Hughes was very good, Guehi did some great stuff on the ball, we went from our keeper to make a chance at one point with about 30 passes and switching play - some of our possession play was excellent but they were incredibly sharp when a pass went slightly astray. The scoreline says more about how good Arsenal are not how bad we are - I can't believe how one bad result results in selective memory loss for the last six or seven games for some people. And we had three key players missing, two of whom will be back next game. I'm sure we'll come out sharper and fighting after this blip.
That is incredibly condescending to criticise fans who quite rightly didn’t enjoy that performance. The defence was woeful today and we gave too many easy opportunities away. To wrap it up into a, well we did ok in some areas, just doesn’t sit well. We shipped 5 goals and you simply cannot sit back and applaud that as a satisfactory performance. We got annihilated and all we can really say is thank goodness there are worse teams to play this Christmas and hopefully we won’t play as poorly again.Posters saying the whole team were awful and Glasner was naive need to keep their toys in their pram. Disagree about singling out Richard’s. Thought the other two in the back three made just as many mistakes if not more than Richard’s. The set up today would have only worked if everyone had played tighter/together and didn’t consistently make errors. Arsenal were just too good but the way we played throughout the team today didn’t help one bit and that includes in front of goal. Let’s hope this doesn’t put us back to how we were before our recent run of form for the coming games?Posters saying the whole team were awful and Glasner was naive need to keep their toys in their pram.
