Crystal Palace vs. Arsenal match thread

I’m blaming Kamada for that last goal. Entirely his fault 😂
No im blaming Kamada and Glasner for it Glasner should have taken him off at half time and brought on Devenny and not waited until the game was gone . Kamada should know himself he's not good enough and should have taken himself off. I wouldn't be upset if i never saw that man in a Palace shirt again, he is muck .

It all comes down to players.

No Eze, no Munoz, no Wharton, no Chalobah and a group of inadequate replacements for a busy schedule.
That turns a narrow defeat or a draw into a spanking.

The important thing now is to forget this game and stay positive.

Yep, I think we can safety say now that recruitment for this season has been poor and we are where we deserve to be.

For the first time for a while I'm concerned, especially since we have a lot of contracts up.

My thinking exactly. It only takes the omission of a couple of reliable regulars and their replacements to underperform and we are in trouble. Wheeling out Schlupp is a sure sign of the thinness of the squad.

It was important that we signed a couple of wing backs and we failed to do that. Kamada looks very average. Sarr is good, but we need more options for creativity.

Our season hinges on keeping our best players fit or signing some more quality.

I think we had 14 shots and 6 on target like Arsenal did? Just they were more clinical.
Remember OG wanted to have a go in the cup, so 3 games in a week was always going to be tough.
Eze and Wharton being out, Munoz suspended were big misses.
Wins against Bournemouth and Soton and it's happy days. Merry Christmas HOLers!
Having a go in the cup looks to have been poor decision making by OG. While we want to win every game putting out of first 11 when we are in a relegation fight in the League and have a thin squad looked like odd priorities. Playing Eze when he had a knock and then predictably losing him to injury for this game is just bad player management

The main problem today is that only (possibly) Lacroix would get in the Arsenal Team, Glasners lack of changing the formation today was very poor, we had equal shots, and on target and the same corner count, Arsenal started with 5 attacking players, we started with 2, Kamada is not up to the Premier league at all, Highlighted by being first player subbed, if we think Glasner is the right man, back him in the Window, Sell Guehi and Eze if money is needed, and if clubs still want him. Lacroix, Sarr and IMO Riad are good signings, most of the players gave 100%, Glasner will not change formation, so we sell and invest in players suitable for wing backs, or we stay watching players trying, but not equipped to play the role asked.

Yes there were plenty of individual errors, but if we had taken our chances things might of been different .
The chances we had were very similar to Arsenal s .Mateta to make it 2-2 end of first half ,two chances with headers second half off rebounds.
Arsenal buried there's.
The scoreline is a bit harsh I feel .We moved the ball around quite well .Arsenal were very good .
I don't think this will damage confidence.
With a few players back for Bournemouth I feel we can get a result .

I sort of agree. I certainly want players who are specialist wing backs if we are going to stick with OG’s style of play.

The worst probablyisn't this humiliating loss.

It is that every team in this league can see how horrifying easy it is to score against us - and how it is done.

In 5 months time we may this day as the day relegation was made certain.

I think that might be jumping the gun. Gooners twice in a week is tough on anyone. There in the title race for a reason. We will be fine.

We’re not a bad side. We didn’t take our chances tonight and our defence had a poor evening. Olly felt having a go at them was the right option and it didn’t work out tonight. I agree we could do with a couple of signings in January and we need Wharton and Eze playing well again. I still think we finish around 10th 11th

Agree with everything you said there , i said it after the cup game , i can see Arsenal coming in with a bid for Lacroix! Very strange and ill timed subs , the only difference between the two teams was they took their chances and we didnt . That and a massive cheque book of course. Agree about Kamada if he threw his hat on the floor he would probably miss , he is just not good enough . A few new signings are needed .

If, when clear through one on one, Mateta would have placed / dinked it to the side of their keeper it would have been 2-2 and game on. Instead he did what far too many of our strikers tend to do, which is shoot straight at the keeper. It's particular moments like that which change the course of a game. Really poor finishing.
