There was an audible groan around us yesterday when OG decided to sub our best player on the evening, Will Hughes for Daichi yesterday. In fairness, and although against lesser opposition he was good against Stockport, and better in his 30 minutes last night. Made a few telling tackles and some good defence-splitting through balls. Hope he is finding his feet and fingers crossed he comes good. In Ollie we trust. Well done Daichi.

For an experienced international footballer who is rated by OG he seems remarkably ill at ease and out of place. Even in the pre-match warm ups. And he has played awful since he joined. But he was voted MOM for Stockport and I thought he played his best game yet vs Leicester. In Ollie we trust. He's not going anywhere else anytime soon on his huge salary with us.....so I continue to give him time. Nothing good can come from concerted slagging him off. Let's encourage him. Give him his own song for next time he plays well??

Expecting Kamada to turn into the player we originally anticipated is about as likely as Nketiah being top scorer this season.

One of my takes on Kamada is that he looks to play one touch play in and around the box to help unlock defences as opposed to taking 2 touches by which time you have been closed down. These may not come off all the time and also require the players you are trying to play through to be on the same wavelength as you. I thought early on the season this was definitely not the case and you never quite know if it is because the front players are not making the runs or making the wrong ones or Kamada is not picking them out. With the potential language barrier and the lack of a pre season for a lot of players this was probably to be expected.
I still think there is a player in there and as the familarity with his team mates grows i expect this to improve as was evident to his through ball to Nketiah in the later stages of the Stockport game.

He has a reasonable scoring record before coming to Palace and for me he looks like he can finish. It just looks like our midfielders don't push on to much as i think his goal out put compares favourably with Hughes Lerma and Doucoure ( Has any of them scored this season ) !! Accepted he has played a bit further forward but this has mainly been as a sub when we have been looking to close out a game.

I do feel sorry for the lad as he is completely out of place it seems.
He just looks lost and wondering where he should run and what should he do.
The last two games it has not felt like we've gone down to 10 men when he comes on, but he's still nowhere near the standard of the PL. Don't get me started on his wages. I wonder if it affects the other players like Hughes, La Croix and Munoz (who pout in week after week) if they see poor performances being rewarded with higher salary?
For some on this thread, lets not get carried away ... he not at the level of being considered "did ok"

The WH pitch is 4 meters longer than ours (same width) it will suit our front 3 - When Kamada comes on for the last 20 minutes he will have plenty of opportunity to thread balls forward into all that extra space

Its clear that he's technically good. A good touch, decent vision, and can pick a pass.
The league will be faster and more physical than he'll be used to, its going to take some time to adapt.
In the last 5 of so games, he's made positive impact on the games. And been one of the better players on the pitch. No not at the level we want, but significantly better than early season form.
Remember most of you lot were slagging off Sarr and Lacroix early on. And how much of a disaster it was to let Anderson go (see Fulham fans feelings on Anderson thread).

I just don't think that's remotely true - appreciate people see things differently, but I find it hard to accept he was worse than 'ok' against Leicester, or in fact in most of his recent performances.
He's not ripping up any trees but he's a functional part of the squad who has been asked to cover a variety of roles.
Still big question marks over whether he will make any sort of significant contribution here, but I find these narratives that he's some sort of lost puppy out there to be very exaggerated.
Free transfers always end up on higher wages - I'm very confident the other players understand that simple reality.
