Kamada will be an asset

Nicky Chatterton, the son of Len the groundsman, was another one to receive dog's abuse.
Malcolm Allison persisted with him and Chatterton came up trumps with some valuable goals when making late runs from midfield.
Those under 60 won't remember him.
I of course remember Nicky Chatterton. He left our club to join Millwall, I believe signed by George Petchey.
I heard several years ago that he had moved to Willingdon near Eastbourne.
I also recall his Father Len, who used to drive 'The Flatterer', a VM Beetle, to flatten the pitch at half-time !
Len was also 'Coco the clown' at children's parties at the club.

correction, I turn 60 in 13 days time, and I remember him vividly, from the early struggle to the tap in off the bar in the cup at Chelsea to his finish in our 3-0 win at the old Den in '77 that got into the Big Match Golden Goals final shortlist, so there. Kamada is starting to show glimpses, did a very clever trick at the Emirates, and cut in very nicely and played Clyne in for a cross in the league game, some games he seems two yards off the pace, others his positioning is good, hovering in spaces where he can either be available for a pass or make an interception depending on the run of the ball. He could turn out to be like a Mark Albrighton or even a younger Schlupp in that he's quiet and a bit under the radar but when he makes a contribution it's very effective.

I was present and correct at this encounter which was the opening game of the season.
Peter Caswell was in goal and he had hardly played for us beforehand hence my apprehension.

And good for him but none of that did us any good. How long should we have persevered with him?
Maybe he would have come good in time or maybe he was never going to score goals under Roy. He wasn’t the only one in that boat. My point is there was a decent player in there who was regularly criticised on this forum. Now that’s Kamada’s role.

Yes, that's fair enough. Stan Collymore did a lot better after he left us as well.

Stan Collymore was at our club at the same time as Wright and Bright and of course they were regulars in the team.
Colin Murphy signed him for Southend he did well for the club and this provided the launchpad for his goalscoring exploits at his next club Nottm Forest and later Liverpool.

Collymore was the one player that we shouldn't of sold. The rumour at the time was that he had a speech impediment a lisp or stammer and Wright and Bright took the piss out of him constantly. He was sold to get rid of the problem, unfortunately Wright decided to leave and we got lumbered with Gabbiadini, who was rubbish as Collymore flourished elsewhere.

I always liked him. Could do with him now paired with Eze. An attacking no 10 who could score goals

Not welcome by who? I’d rather out a player who isn’t up to it than give him a free ride.
So during a game you’d boo or shout derogatory comments at one of our own players - you are the type of person that is not welcome as a supporter IMO.

YES, use the forums to criticise and engage but not during a match !!

Did I say that? No, I didn’t think so, so why make it up. Do one.

You are the one that made the assumption you dumb ass.
You’d be better off supporting Brighton - they like to leave early when losing and “out” their players (as you clearly said) who are underperforming.

Dumb ass - that’s a funny one - haven’t had that thrown at me since I was a kid - sounds like you’re a YANK. No doubt a fair-weather supporter hence the need to “Out” are players.
