Yeremy Pino

This feels very unlike Palace in some ways. It’s all over the media with the terms openly discussed, which may of course not be accurate. Nevertheless only agreed in principle keeps the door open. We normally stay under the radar unless the contract has ink on it.
New sporting director?

Better snoopers in the media?

Less discrete agents?

Jesus, who pissed in your cornflakes?

On the verge of signing a 22year old who already has 15 caps for Spain.

Why are you working on the premise that he's inferior?

At 22, Eze hadn't even played in the prem, this guy has played 130 odd games in in La Liga, 28 games in Europe, and a full international.
I don't eat cornflakes.
I'm also a realist.

He has just under 2 years left of his contract and probably asked to leave - we will no doubt be doubling his salary.

Villarreal will have realised if he wasn't sold in this window they would get a lot less in the next one.

Once a player asks to leave it is difficult to keep them happy.

Surely a win win all around.

Does look a little lightweight for the prem, but he has a decent track record in a good league
The proof of the pudding is in the eating, as they say. We will find out if he is a bargain soon enough.

You don't eat cornflakes, but did not rule out someone peeing in your cereal of choice

Best to check the colour of the milk
I like to remain neutral about signings until we know how good they are.

He looks good, but most do on their show reels. Those that follow Spanish football say his end product needs improving.

To the extent that you (a) doubt his quality or (b) don't think there is a cat in hell's chance of his signing for us?

If the former, players are usually not what they were after an ACL, but this guy seems to have fully recovered. Of course, once he kicks a ball for us...

(He is also top notch in a phone box.)

If the latter, I am very much in your camp. Too old, too long a history of disappointment, something is bound to f**k up.

BTW agree on cornflakes. Too 1970s. I'm more a raw, pinpoint oatmeal man myself.

Totally fair and i agree, winning the transfer window often doesn't transfer to league positions and player performance. Look at the early performance of Wirtz, the best signing of the window apparently.

I trust Glasner to develop whoever he gets in though to be better than when they arrived.

I also don't eat cereal, for the record.

If he had it all we'd be paying more than what we got for Eze wouldn't we! Its unrealistic to assume Palace are able to shop in Harrods or even Waitrose.
All our players are developed and improved and (hopefully) moved on at a profit. This lad will be no different

Naturally, one remains cautious until they have signed the dotted line, but it is always a gamble whether a player from the Spanish League can adapt to the Premier League.
I think he will be under pressure to fill Eze's boots, which could be unrealistic.
