Tory Leadership Race

The words 'poetic' and 'licence' spring to mind!

I don't remember any problems with migration when Thatcher was in charge. I know that Major sold us down the river where Europe was concerned but blair was the real villain when it comes to uncontrolled migration and low wages including zero hour contracts etc.
That sounds like dementia.

They could make it like a Premier League club's appointment of an 'interim' Manager. I actually think Priti Patel would have been a particularly ferocious adversary for Starmer at Prime Ministers Questions.
And bombing the small boats in the Channel would have her and the Tories surging in opinion polls.
She had a very pleasant face, just as long at the camera didn't catch a shot from the waist down, where she was particularly bovine.
All the Tory potential leaders have glaring deficiencies in their armoury. but an election should be some way off. Plenty of time for another Leader it things go wrong.
I would have gone for Patel, just for the sheer vitriol she occasionally speaks. 😀

What I mean by crypto Marxism is talking socialist ideals but not actually having them
By distorted hippy values, I mean loving everyone - including those that literally hate the way you live. Hippies actually stuck it to the "man". This lot stick it to the majority of people in order to look good, whilst not being any good in reality. Typical middle class children of socialists and hippies. Would have been described previously as champagne socialists, largely. But that term seems to have disappeared with New Labour. Maybe this resonates with some.
Lots of them are just awful narcissistic and resentful people with daddy issues.

You couldn't trust them to find the right hole in a brothel let alone know what they are talking about on politics.

So reform for you as well then 😂
Good heavens NO !

I have been a member of the Conservative Party for decades, I have been a member of CPF, I have been active in Local Associations, I have campaigned tirelessly in Local and General Elections and been active on election days, I have attended several Conservative functions etc etc. I have been privileged to meet Prime Ministers and Cabinet Ministers.
My support will continue unabated.

So much for the country then Willo.

You might have campaigned for conservativism but you received liberalism cloaked in lies.

They had an 80 seat majority and did nothing.....Aside from the Brexit in name only, they just continued with Blairism....restricting civil liberties, appointing woke leaders in institutions, funding 'Hope Not Hate' and other neo communists. Bending the knee to a woke civil service who literally detested them. They never even took the lead against the alphabet mafia and were funding them instead.......They could have altered the power dynamic to dismantle what Blair did and give power back to themselves and away from Quangos (which are packed full of Blairites and leftists) but it's only ever talk and they did nothing. Indeed, the 'Online Safety' bill is their work....pure Blairism to thought police.

When you hear them talk there is no real contrition. The only one who I'm been impressed with in terms of honesty has been Truss. However, with the rest of them If they had won the election it would have just continued. They only care about their careers.

No one in the Conservative party has paid a price for the destruction of social conservativism in the party.....and it was a choice....just as it continues along its pointless centralism today.

It's all lies and no cigar.

Reform are far from perfect but at least their manifesto was actually conservative.

Suffice to say your comments has not met with my universal approbation, however Conservatives in general accept that the 'Brand' has been damaged and there is an acknowledgement that we did not deliver for the electorate as we had hoped.
Many of the electorate voted for other parties simply to remove us from office and there were Conservatives who choose not to vote at all.
A number of times during the campaign I heard words to the effect "I have always voted Conservatives but not this time" or "I simply do not know what the Conservatives stand for any longer". Many in this cohort asserted they would not be voting at all.

The job of the new leader is to rebuild our party whilst Labour flounders on the path of self-destruction.It is a challenging task in world of labyrinthine complexity and I wish the new leader every success in his or her efforts to revive our fortunes.

‘Rebuild the party’
Is that the same as leaning right and actually being conservative in nature?
