We can all get the detail wrong, as wrong turns on any journey are inevitable, but I have no doubt at all that the overall pattern that I anticipate is correct and that you, and those who think like you are wrong. Your destination will not be reached and mine will. History may not repeat itself in every detail but the lessons it teaches us about the way we behave and what we strive for are universal and timeless. For those reasons I am quite sure the wave of right wing sentiment we are witnessing both in Europe and the USA will not be sustained. We are better than that. We may have to employ new ways to counter the xenophobia and hatred that underpins it but they will be found.

The programme did not and cannot erase concerns about the level of immigration which is where most people are who have at least concerns. The far right are a minority.

It contained much more about the seeming growth of race theory “science “ again.

Trying to divert onto a subject it didn’t attempt to cover, like immigration, is exactly the kind of response the far right would do. They are promoting extremism as a way to solve a problem it cannot but they go much, much further than that.

One thing that stuck in my mind was the guy who said he admired Trump and wants to replicate his populist, personal, successful take over of a major party in Europe.

You’re out of talking tokens on this one Wisbech. You’ve been wrong on this subject too many times for us to take anything you have to say even remotely seriously anymore.

Strangely I don’t need either “tokens” or, even less, your approval to express my opinions. Something every advocate of free speech ought to approve but many don’t when they encounter ideas they don’t like.

Being wrong is nearly always a matter of opinion. I think you are wrong about this and wrong about Yaxley-Lennon. Indeed I struggle to recall anything I thought you were right about but that’s more likely because your ideas seem so lightweight most are instantly forgotten.

I see that Robinson has been charged under the Terrorism Act and held on remand. We now live in a Stasi-style regime with clear and obvious political prisoners. No doubt this will lead to consequences.

The consequences are they more people will be wound up tomorrow and the risk of trouble just escalated. All whilst Robinson sits it out. Which was the plan. My understanding is that he got the nick and subsequent remand based on refusing to disclose a pin number to the police for a phone. This is basic 101 stuff in how to make sure you get to sit out s*** you have orchestrated. Tomorrow is a huge trap. If you know anybody planning ongoing please try to disuade them. I fully understand their anger. I fully understand why they want to do something. But they are being played. Robinson is not our friend.

He has been arrested and remanded for contempt of court. Not for terrorism. Something that applies to everyone. Including him. He has also been bailed on a second offence of refusing to provide the pin to his mobile when required by the Police.

Why he has engineered this just prior to the “protest” he has whipped up this weekend can only be guessed at, but it’s no coincidence and is costing us all a lot for the policing needed.
 
At least they have let out some nasty prisoners early to make way for some that will say hurty words to the police. Whether people attend or not is their choice but the anti protestors will be ok to abuse anyone they wish.

He had no need to return and it seems increasingly likely he is planning to move outside the UK as he can be just as disruptive online that way without risking arrest.

So why? Just to create some “free Tommy” stories and wind up the impressionable again?

Those chanting slogans are very unlikely to be confronted let alone arrested. Only if they use, or incentivise violence do they run a big risk.

Hopefully the police will keep the opposing groups apart.

The jailing of many people for both violent, verbal and internet ‘crime’ in relation to the recent protests is imo very wrong. Talking to my mrs she maybe rightly noted that for years many have been calling for action on bad behaviour and law breaking and now it’s done we still aren’t happy; noting the 3000 odd who lost their front doors after the mark duggan riots.
That being said the 2 tier approach on who gets nicked seems very evident for all to see ref a certain ‘type’ not getting their comeuppance.
That being said I do wonder if the precedent set is in preparation for potentially...

I know, which makes it a puzzle on what game he is playing. For game it is. He is likely to be jailed on Monday for contempt of Court. It probably won’t be for long, during which time his idiot supporters will make a lot of noise and even more donations to his support fund.

He will then disappear abroad again but this time free to return whenever he chooses.
