I'm glad you said 'this government' and not Our government. Its the same across all the West. Deeply unpopular politicians with only a scant regard for democracy. Often they are a politically appointed shoe-in who never did well in the polls. Rishi Sunak, Leo Varadkar & his replacement Simon Harris, Kamala Harris, Hilary Clinton, Macron, ...........even Sadiq Khan was never a populist and never a unifying force.
Tommy Robinson. There are heads like his popping up all over the West. Voices of popular dissent to be treated as criminals and vilified by the authorities ( and the Media). And in all cases their 'criminality' is not particularly apparent nor very serious. Like Trump, the convicted felon - and i am struggling to even remember his crimes. But they get the book thrown at them, in an very enthusiastic manner. Meanwhile i can walk down my local high-street and see open drug-dealing ( & money laundering ) that is ignored by the authorities every day.
Meanwhile somebody like Henry Kissinger can have a few million murders to his name and still get tv interviews by a respectful journalist. Had Kissinger lived to 102, that is.

He has ignored Court orders before and could easily have done so again. He has no respect for our legal system as evidenced by him reshowing the video he was ordered not to.
I have accepted my prediction that he would not return proved inaccurate but this only raises the question of why. It’s certainly not because he has suddenly decided he needs to respect British law. He is a coward. He is a bully, as he has often demonstrated, and bullies are always cowards at heart. He is scared of the law and hides from it, surrounding himself with thugs.
Yes, let's keep a watching eye on these vile university lecturers. They are a danger to society with their biased, vile leftie views and opinions. Let's investigate them and then sack them. When I took my father's ashes to Poland (Yes, I'm the son of an immigrant), in Gniew, near Gdansk, there was, in the town, the remains of their ancient castle. There was a memorial erected there in memory of all the professionals of the town: teachers, lawyers, well anyone considered 'intellectual', actually, who were rounded up at the castle and shot by the occupying Germans.
No doubt the occupiers considered them to be vile people. They deserved it.

You do not quite get the point and immigrant or not you and your family are assimilated to our society and conform to the laws and ethics. If you feel that immigrants who are not escaping persecution or even try to get on are like you then ok feel as guilty as you want!
The point about the original post is these people are putting actual terrorists on a mantle to be lauded. The same who would have your history erased and your actual life as I would guess your family were possibly jewish and you are the blood of those people who were shot. Maybe not for being Jewish perse but the Jews quickly followed.

in my book, you cannot be called a proper 'Intellectual' without some religious scepticism.
And the two-word-term 'religious scholar' is a contradiction in terms. Just As Spike Milligan had described 'military intelligence'......a contradiction in terms. Like British Democracy.
Or maybe even moderate Islam ? although i am happy to be proven wrong on the last one, if somebody can point me toward a moderate religious textbook in that faith.....a book lacking any calls to violence, homophobia, AntiSemitism, AntiSecularism, punishing apostates, & Anti female prejudice. Depends really. You no doubt know if the aim was to filter people into useful or not in Germany’s war effort production then any pen pusher had no use to them. Any Jewish writers, artists and musicians had to go immediately to erase the culture.
So University lecturers hailing terrorists as heroes is ok in your world, fair enough. In my opinion they are vile. By the way my grandfather was Jewish and his grandmother was a displaced person from Prussia in the mid 1800s

I would agree with you on the rejection of Churchill criticisms from the left. However, while I don't know about 'evil and nasty', I certainly agree with the criticisms of Churchill from the right. Perhaps not as far as some of them go but the gist of the criticism carries weight in my view.
Pat Buchanan....adviser to Nixon, Ford and Reagan certainly changed my view along with others. Much like Powell he was warning about the society we have now decades before, back when others were saying, 'lt'll never happen'.
My view of the wisdom of Churchill's actions changed once I read his book. Amazon.co.uk (though not at that price) I say do what I did and read the book, if you still feel the same way then fair enough.
Five years ago I would have agreed with you. However, that was because....I was raised to view Churchill as the saviour of the nation.
Churchill didn't want to lose the empire and in my view he didn't want to open the door to the subversives.....and as he was a Victorian I think he would be horrified to see what has happened.
But nevertheless the facts have to be faced.
That war was the major root from which the traitorous branches grew to undermine and with the passing of the generational reins destroy what was Britain and remake it into the much more elitist controlled, confused, self loathing caricature you see today.
