Maybe the bbc are seeing that being in bed with this lot is like sleeping with the enemy. Wait for the recent jailed getting checked out and the judiciary getting hammered for giving wrong info to defendants. This is going to need a lot of popcorn 😂
 
Firstly, no mention of rejoining the EU during this conference week. So I need to tear up that particular metaphorical betting slip. Still reckon it is coming down the track though....

And secondly, Starmer could be well in the frame now. This time 48 hours ago I would have just brushed off any and every claim about him being in danger but now...

Now I f***ing detest the man and everything he stands for. But he won an election. And should not be removed from office because others behind the scene want him gone. That is the problem. We are not being ruled by the people we think we are. Much in the same way that Liz Truss was effectively the victim of a coup, I am beginning to think the same fate might befall Starmer. And whilst the schadenfreude will be delicious, something is seriously amiss in our country.

It's possible that this small rumour will now become a very big rumour.
 
I shall be travelling to Birmingham today in readiness for the 'Opening Ceremony' tomorrow.
I am looking forward to the 'Beauty Contest' on the final day when the Leadership Candidates take to the stage, even though I attended the Hustings when all were present.

Clearly at 'Conference' there will be discussion amongst members concerning the performance of the Government and I for one will find it impossible to bridle my tongue with fustigation very much in evidence.I very much suspect that I will subject the Government to unrelenting invective!

The good news for all is that the cherished HOL will be free of my lustreless contributions for a period as all my efforts will be focussed on matters in Birmingham and on Conservative business thereafter when I return to base.Normal service will in all probability resume next weekend !! 👍 👍

My money remains firmly in my pocket !
At this juncture I haven't fully formulated my thoughts on who will cover the 'Crown' sometimes flip-flopping like a speared-eel as to whom I believe will emerge victorious.
I suspect at Conference I shall have a clearer mind.

It's never a good look when a politician blames his own kids (See SNP iPAD roaming scandal).

You defend your kids to the death in public and sort it out privately.
 
UK politics is through the looking glass at the moment. A PM who has just secured a huge majority less than 3 months ago and its looking like he could be forced out of office by....who knows? That is the bit that is really doing my head in. What kind of dystopia are we living in? Even if he remains in post, the fact that its being openly discussed now is just beyond comprehension. How on earth must this look to the outside world?
