The January 2025 Window

Scotland fan here and when I watched him play against Croatia, the first player he made me think of was Bolasie. Unbelievable pace and skill, he had Gvardiol on toast the whole game. I definitely agree with you here.
👍Jeez , if hes that good sign him up already before Potter does .

Think he does. I saw him play in the recent England U21 and he was hands down MOTM. Also, pacy skillful flank player - Palace brand or what?
My sons in-laws are Ipswich season ticket holders, they are not over enamoured with him but it’s all about opinions

True. I saw him play one game. They see him week after week.

When I saw him play in telly games, he has that annoying trait shared with Eze of doing all the flash... and then losing possession.

Given his age, I look at him as a diamond in the rough, and he could well be. However, if we have not managed to train that issue out of Eze..?

This is an odd article about Beste. He has a €50 m release clause and Benfica don't want to sell him. Palace can't pay that much but €15 m might be enough. That really clears things up.

A Release clause just to keep the player happy? A release clause is there to give the player power and to force the club to sell should it be hit, the club could sell for less if they wanted to...

At today's press conference, Glasner was as confident as I've seen him that 2 players will join this window, but he wouldn't be drawn on names or their positions.

More broadly Henderson, Lacroix and JPM are struggling with illness and unlikely to be fit for Stockport.
I suppose Turner, Chaloboah and Nketiah will be included.

Hughes also won't be risked and he wasn't able to give a timescale for Wharton other than it will be some weeks before he can even be considered for first team training.

According to EPL Injury table Hughes for next league game Wharton for end of month.

I suspect the latter is optimistic.

If the new manager wants to get a couple of players players in they will need to sell to avoid points deduction, and with 10 players out of contract at the end of this season, including Calvert-Lewin. Doucoure and Gueye, it only leaves McNeil, Branthwaite and the massively overrated Pickford

I cant help feeling we will have a pretty upset manager if no deals are done. We had 2 managers leave when they were doing well apparently for a lack of resource and/or success on transfers. The pressure on Dougie is generally high this time of year, but this January Glasner going public may have racked it up even higher.
If they fail to deliver Glasner may well walk and I don’t blame him. Lessons learnt from Summer? 🤔
