Summer Transfers 2025 (rumours and incomings)

We were very lucky with injuries last season compared to many of the seasons before it.
Yes, when one recalls how the players looked unfit during the Hodgson and Vieira days, it seems to me highly likely that Glasner and his team have improved greatly the fitness and training regime.

So if the Right Back signs, i think replacement for Guehi if he goes, then, New, Richards, Lacroix, Riad(new year), Lerma, Clyne, and maybe Jemide, so for me, a centre forward, Emanuel Emegha from Strasbourg, and a loan of Ethan Nwaneri from Arsenal, any more and its a bonus.

The main issue was midfield where Doucoure was out for so long and Wharton took months to recover to full fitness. Luckily, Hughes had a wonderful season. As we currently stand, an injury to any of the front or back 3 and we look to be in a degree of trouble

100% correct but any injury up front and we are a less potent force. We have never had such a strong squad that we can remain unaffected by injuries.

Yes and (guessing) we have also spent a long time slowly building our support facility especially physio and recovery.

I've been watching football nearly 60 years and yet elements remain a mystery to me.

Guehi has to be the bargain opportunity of the summer and you would think top clubs would be clamouring for him.
He's consistently excellent, a great professional, rarely injured and around 24 years of age.
Even at say £40 million that has to be a bargain for a player who has his best years ahead of him and perhaps another 10 years ahead of him at top level football.
There's an argument that he's as good as any centre back out there, although Van Dyke and Saliba could also have a claim.

With one year on his contract, you would think this would an excellent opportunity to get him at an artificially low price.

What am I missing?

He might want to go on a free. I'm guessing Liverpool next season. We can't force him to go. Look at Liverpool themselves and Trent. Even they could do nothing - although I do believe they got some paltry fee in the end due to Madrid wanting him early.

I have been saying this for ages, going on a free would be advantageous to him and we can’t force him not to.

Indeed, I suppose he could have made the decision to leave on a free, but doesn't want to run the risk of the fans turning against him (as they did with Trent Alexander after it became clear that he was leaving).
Not that I think Palace fans would do this.

Of couse if an interested club had the need of him for this season, and didnt want to wait, then it becomes another variable.

There is also the ‘possibility’ of him departing in the January window. His value would be significantly reduced, but hopefully by then we would have other players to replace him.

I think Konate signing a new contract at Liverpool may have made Guehi think, World cup season he needs to be playing.
Best click bait offer Ive seen for Guehi is Liverpool at c.£30m. (Less 20% to Chelsea)
Im sure our three billionaire shareholders are not going to lose sleep on keeping Guehi for the coming season. Even gives their fellow countryman Todd a dig in the ribs.
Its starting to come home to some players the benefit of being out of contract to them has huge potential financially. Guehi has to be in that boat now.
Surely Woody will want us to hit the ground running in his first season.

I think, as others have said, he is only interested in Liverpool and a big signing on fee. I don't think the Palace fans will take against him and, even if they do, God is on his side.
If Liverpool are having some issues at centre-back and are not walking the league, they might still come in for him in January. They got 10 million for TAA to play about an hour in the Club World Cup.
Pure guesswork, but if Chelsea showed an interest he might want to go back there. They are definitely weaker than Arsenal and Liverpool in that position

Unreliable Talksport is now linking Newcastle with a new £40 million bid for Guehi.
If true it may have the effect of flushing out any Liverpool interest.
Presumably Newcastle wouldn't bid officially without having checked first that Guehi could be interested - unless it's a lame attempt to appease fans in a similar vein to Spurs .
They do need a centre back though and certainly had bids rejected before.

Regardless of this, the fact that Palace are meeting Liverpool on Sunday will give the media plenty of opportunity to push their Guehi to Liverpool stories.
It's too good an opportunity to pass.

I think Parrish is less domineering with Glasner than he may have been with other managers, he does not want to p*ss him off with a repeat of last season's start, so I think, taking everything into consideration, that we will keep Eze and Guehi for this season. As for incoming players we are stacked in midfield, we only need Guessand to bolster the forward line, him, Franca, Esse and Nketiah are adequate back up for the front three, it's at the back where we need to strengthen so either the Leicester or Girona player as back up for Munoz, and one more centre back plus Lerma and the returning Riad (not till new year I know) and Clyne would be enough back up behind the first three. Three from six out of Guehi, Lecroix, Richards, Bissek, Lerma and Clyne would do to start with. Maybe also some veteran free transfer or Chalobah-type loan could enable us to rotate defenders properly to cope with a European campaign.

This would be one Lazarus moment if he ever took the field for us with the extent of his injury and length of his lay-off.

There’s a story doing the rounds that Villa are trying to hijack our deal for Guessand.
I’ve not seen us linked with similar players and wonder what’s our plan B if we fail to land him.
I know transfers are complicated with various factors at play but I hope we don’t regret not getting the deal done early and quietly.

I dont think thats possible. I suspect as soon as 1 team (maybe us) shows some interest.

Agent then goes round hawking him to every club better than us

There is so much crap posted by click bait, makes me wonder if we even have any interest in Guess.. ard.
Palace do seem to keep their cards very close to the chest. If we keep all our top players and add one or two more I will be very happy.
