Summer Transfers 2025 (rumours and incomings)

I dont think thats possible. I suspect as soon as 1 team (maybe us) shows some interest.

Agent then goes round hawking him to every club better than us
Not necessarily.
For example Brighton buy players out of the blue and the first anyone knows about them is when they are pictured wearing the shirt.
To a certain extent we achieved it with Wharton and Munoz.

I acknowledge it’s not always reliable to rely on clips, but Guessand really does have the look of a Palace player about him, and it would be a shame to miss out on him through not getting it done.
No blame or pointing fingers, just an observation.

Unreliable Talksport is now linking Newcastle with a new £40 million bid for Guehi.
If true it may have the effect of flushing out any Liverpool interest.
Presumably Newcastle wouldn't bid officially without having checked first that Guehi could be interested - unless it's a lame attempt to appease fans in a similar vein to Spurs .
They do need a centre back though and certainly had bids rejected before.

Regardless of this, the fact that Palace are meeting Liverpool on Sunday will give the media plenty of opportunity to push their Guehi to Liverpool stories.
It's too good an opportunity to pass.

I do think Newcastle will bid for Marc this window.

If they can get £120/130m for Isak, and buy Sesko for £70/80m. They'll have enough left over.

If they could get Guehi and Sesko for Isaks money, that pretty good business in anyones book.

I think Parrish is less domineering with Glasner than he may have been with other managers, he does not want to p*ss him off with a repeat of last season's start, so I think, taking everything into consideration, that we will keep Eze and Guehi for this season.

If he does that, then all he'll do is piss off whichever new manager comes in next summer who has to deal with replacing Guehi and having Eze on a 1 year contract.

We'll have £100m of talent to replace with whatever we manage to scrape together from selling an undervalued Eze - just to stand still.

If that is the plan then everyone had better enjoy this season because after this, it's a rebuilding project.

If Arsenal fail to make an offer for Eze then I wonder if he might be convinced to sign a new deal. His age is against him and signing a new 3 or 4-year deal on £120k+ a week gives him security and he could still ask for a release clause. Guehi is much younger and so can afford to see out his deal.

I agree about Guessand. He looks rough and ready and could thrive in our aggressive forward play. His ability to play across the front line is also a big plus given our small squad.

If we dont lose anyone , it could be just the usual late loan for cover, as the side is very settled and the attitude might be ,if it ain’t broke, why fix it.
Personally I,d still be disappointed if nobody comes in because of the work load . There will be injuries, always is, so I hope I’m wrong and Parish, and his helpers get something done.

I agree with you, we need to sell Guehi now to fund his replacement, but it's late in the window and easier said than done. And Guessand would not be an Eze replacement, he is for squad rotation, but at this stage selling Eze for £60mil and spending a large part of that on a Paqueta or Trossard would be hard to sort out b4 the end of the month - disrupting the squad at this late stage would most likely have the same effect as our delayed action had last summer, something which Glasner has spoken out against, that's why I think there's a good chance we'll keep both players, till January, then we might have sorted out replacements, it's looking a bit late now.

It never worked out for him or for Luke Plange, both signed from Derby.
Dougie, seemed to get the plaudits for Eze, Wharton, Munoz. But when the policy is to gamble on young talent then as with any gamble you lose some. Would have been great if these two had become regular squad players, would have saved the club millions.

Fair point. I do think Brighton is a little different though, the have signed some players very very early.

I guess with players like Guessand. When its pretty widely reported that he's going to leave this window (and even the manager sounds resined to it) its probably in his interest to not make the decision early. Especially as other big moves e.g. Isak might initiate a domino of transfers.

Ultimately, I just cant believe the club wouldn't want to get the deals done early if it was possible to do so.

And 100% agree on Guessand looking like a Palace player. Definitely feel like he'd offer us a slightly different more direct dynamic

it's a fine line, Doogie was right to see something in Sorloth but it didn't work out HERE, Professor Hindsight is the world's cleverest man

No but it infuriated Wayne Rooney so on that basis alone it was almost worth it
we bought Plange for £1m - paid it upfront and loaned him back for the rest of the season with us paying his wages.

I think we gave them a great price for a player who had c 6 1st team games under his belt at the time and Derby clearly needed the money. Rooney had nothing to whinge about, we behaved very fairly.

He has been woeful ever since so Derby did quite well out of this deal.
