Summer Transfers 2025 (rumours and incomings)

I haven't seen us linked with anyone close to filling Eze's boots, so I hope the club stands firm and says no to any bids. TalkSport referenced Arsenal only wanting to pay £55 million, which, when you take out QPR's cut, would only leave us with around £40 million. For that money, we'd be better off keeping him for two seasons and letting him walk on a free for the value he brings to the team. If Arsenal are serious, and want to show Eze that they are, then they need to pay his release fee or bugger off.

Even if Eze stays I still think we need another creative player in our ranks.
Their percentage is based on our profit not his sale price so they wouldn't be getting more than about £7-8m.

I agree with your statement re another creative player if we can find one in our price range.

It was beginning of august last year so seems like it may be (hopefully) correct.
I suspect the confusion arises out of the term "2 weeks before", Some click baiters have interpreted that as "before the window closes" and others as "before the beginning of the PL season. The latter makes far more sense ans so I'm hoping and thinking that's the more likely interpretation.

From bbc gossip section:

Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck, 24, has rejected a move to Crystal Palace, who had a £28m bid accepted for the German. (Gazzetta dello Sport - in Italian)
Reports on this vary a lot. Some saying bid was rejected and they want more. Some say player rejected the move. Some say player now wants the move. It points to two things - there's some genuine interest from us or he's got a very busy agent.

Having watched the two friendly’s yesterday I’m not impressed with our squad. The first match had 11 players that could hold their own in the prem. Then we had Hughes and Lerma in the second match who can be on the bench together with our two new signings. Devenny is okay as is Esse (just) but I’m struggling to see any othe prem ready players. We really need at least 3 more prem ready players signed otherwise it’s going to be our normal struggle to make it up to mid table. And then we have to hope no injuries befall us. And we don’t lose any of our cup winning 11. And of course a European cup competition to have players of some quality to play - I’m worried 😟:-(

I agree with your assessment and reached a similar conclusion.

The youngsters probably need to go out on loan. Mustapha may stay, as he is injured, and has looked the most promising recently.

In addition or replacements?

If the latter - and Eze and Guehi stay - that means all out for a striker?

Personally I'd love to get additions in either of the 2 defenders we've been seriously linked with, Hackney in midfield and a decent Championship striker (?)... and keep our key players.

Greedy? Not if we qualify for EL...

On AM - Esse and Franca?
Hackney has rejected a move to Ipswich.

I think we'll start to see more activity next week with the squad back from Austria.

In terms of outgoings Holding has gone with Edouard strongly rumoured to be following.
There's interest in JRS and if he leaves hopefully there will be a hefty sell on clause in case he comes good.
I've not heard of any interest in Ahamada and perhaps he'll be more difficult to shift.

If we can reduce the wage bill and acquire some funds it should assist us in bringing a few in.

A lot will depend on what happens with Guehi and Eze.

On the assumption that they remain I think the priority should be another attacker to take the load from Sarr and Eze.
We can't rely on Esse, Franca,Devenny or Kamada to take up the role in those advanced positions if Sarr and Eze are unavailable.
They don't carry anything like the same threat.

Why don’t we wait until the window closes, and see, at the moment it’s like saying you don’t like the oil painting when it’s only half way through

Thus it has ever been! The first 11 is arguably better than previous sides in recent memory (eternal 12th place finish aside) but a lot of this has to do with Glasner, who has the vision, motivation, and tactical know-how to inspire to greater heights. That said, personally I feel that we are at that point where we can push on, or even fall back, depending on what happens to key players, and of course, Glasner himself.
By winning the FA cup we appear to be at the crossroads.
