Starmer's big secret?

I am not a Labour fan actually and I was merely pointing out that it is alleged a previous leader also used a legal means to block information being released.

And any government will be compared to it's predecessors.

I would also suggest some of the people in the press who are promoting this alleged story are probably the very ones who were supporting Johnson and saw it as a travesty that he felt he had to resign.
Fair point.

I'm not overly happy with the handouts, but it's not cost the taxpayer a penny as they are gifts and let's be balanced, the millionaire Boris had his hand out for everything - holidays, weddings, food etc. Even Sunak took regular £15k helicopter rides but changed the rules so he won't need to declare them.

When you have senior cabinet minister (Zahawi) trying to evade c£5m in tax everything else is small change really - yet there he was on Question Time last week having a pop too.

The football stuff is ridiculous. He is the prime minster, he can hardly sit in the cheap seats.
Just before covid Boris was at the England rugby - not a murmur as to who paid for his seat.

Sunak sat amongst the fans at Southampton and they have big burly bodyguards with them anyway!

not sure what you point is but you are showing that the state pension has risen by over £900 pa.

Without a shadow of doubt there are some people in fuel poverty, many of those won't be pensioners. The lowest earning pensioners will still get the winter fuel payment so it is mean tested to an extent now. The ones who will suffer will be those just above the pension credit threshold. There are c1m to 2m in this bracket - the 10m quoted is all pensioners, many of whom are well off.

It is not a great policy and will save a limited amount, however, there is some logic for it e.g. it was introduced by Gordon Brown at a time when the triple lock didn't exist.

In winter my fuel costs are well in excess of £300 and i take home less than £3k - so officially i'm in fuel poverty?
Exactly unless you don’t have any other non essential outgoings. Like mortgage or loans etc you are in a good place TBH.

Sadly anyone with a mortgage or loans is still suffering from the mini budget from a couple of years ago and conversely anyone with savings has suffered for years after low savings rates for a very long time.

There will be more 'revelations,' about this government about the next one and about the one after that. All politics is mired in sleaze and right now the focus on this government. Next week it could be someone from the right side of the spectrum. The press don't give a monkeys of it gets them income.

I know this is Kelvin Mackenzie reiterating what Dan Wootton is revealing (or alleging), but if this is true then the digging will continue as to why Starmer and his wife were living separate lives leading up to and after the election. That is if the some of the press don’t already know

My understanding is that ALL of the press already know but no-one seems to know why they are all keeping quiet about it

"A household in England, Wales and Scotland using a typical amount of gas and electricity will now pay £1,717 a year, a 10% rise to the annual bill of £149."

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) defines fuel poverty as when a household's fuel costs are more than 10% of their adjusted net income after housing costs.

The full new state pension rose from £203.85 a week to £221.20 a week, or £11,502 a year.

Fuel prices low in the Summer rising in the Winter who would have thought it.

Yeah, but Putin bad.

Most don't connect the dots unless the press point it out to them.

Lord Waheed Alli is apparently being investigated for withholding onion interests or something. He hasn’t necessarily broken any rules though.
