Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

"The whole point is that UEFA have not been applying the rules consistently. The latest update from this whole shambles is that Nottingham Forest's owner, Evangelos Marinakis's father-in-law is Savvas Theodoridis, who is the vice-president of Olympiacos, the football club owned by Marinakis. Savvas Theodoridis's son, Theodore Theodoridis, is the acting general secretary of UEFA."

Copied this off the bbc, how true all this is . . .

Just saw Parish / Linekar podcast

Parish needs to stop talking

Either Parish lodges the appeal or we just move on.Either way he needs to stop talking .He's making us look silly

Saying UEFA are demoting us because of Forest letter is ridiculous.

We all know it was a sneaky , ratty move by Forest .
We all know the rules are illogical .

Parish is starting to sound like the Greek .
Anybody that sympathised with our case we will lose .

We need to move on .
Do you work for the media , because that isnt what he was saying , he said another club wanted to play in europa and may have influence them , were going to CAS if we didnt have a strong case lawyers would say back off simple

I suspect, the 'Eagle Football Holdings' 43% shareholding in CPFC was sufficient to convince UEFA that this represented a decisive influence at the club.
On the face of it, that would be true. But obviously Eagle Holdings were just investors, and had no voting rights or influence, as might be the case with other companies. Parish was adamant on that from the start, that he runs the club..

Not sure about this one EM, not that there's no connection between them, which there may well be , but Savvas Theodoridis died in 2020.

We are all aware that Steve Parish is the Executive Chairman and are 'au fait' with the decisive role he plays at the club.
UEFA enter 43% - Computer says "Decisive Influence" !!!🙂

Doesn't the fact that he's sold his shares before the competition starts indicate a lack of any influence over results though?

The meeting that Parish and Textor held with UEFA in Nyon in June was to explain the detail behind the ' headline ' of the share ownership.

Palace have had to provide their evidence for UEFA to examine before they arrived at their conveniently delayed decision.

On the face of it, Palace are being punished for not adhering to that infamous 1/3/25 deadline.

To go back to the speeding ticket analogy this is like getting done for drunk driving two months before getting into a car.

I suspect that UEFA are not 'Au Fait' with the internal workings at CPFC and the degree of actual influence exerted by the relevant parties. They have considered the fact that 'Eagle Football Holdings' had a 43% shareholding in the club as at 01 March 2025 and concluded that this represented a decisive influence.

Yes but he had this supposed influence before we were in contravention of their rules. When the competition starts he won't have it any more.

Its almost impossible to guess what way the UEFA will go, i suspect the easiest way for them, what ever that is

You would hope that would come into it, the draw in which Palace/Foerst and Lyon isnt until Aug 29th, i believe

I have been reading, and posting, on the Forest LTLF forum. In the “Forest Banter”, Conference or EUFA League thread.

What a bunch of poorly informed people they are.

I guess you will be able to spot my posts. I hope I have taken quite a lot of wind from their sails.

I disagree.

Because they've had weeks to become '' au fait '' with those internal workings.

Only to opine against the evidence submitted.

Textors withdrawl from both Lyon and Palace means whatever MCO doubt existed has now been removed.

Without rehashing the debate around the feasibility of adhering to the 1/3/25, that date is what Palace are being excessively punished for.

I agree.

On the merits of the case Palace should be included in the Europa since there is no conflict with Lyon and no obstacle to the inclusion of both clubs in the same competition .

Nonetheless, we don't appear to be well connected 'politically,' and if UEFA decide to confirm our removal I've no doubt they will find the reasons.
