Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

Textor said that Parish's sole ambition is always to avoid relegation and no more and he (Textor) wanted to achieve more at the club. I think the primary goal of staying up was the case 5 plus years ago, but with our sustained Premium League status and Glasner's appointment that is BS. I guess to garner his wealth you have to be somewhat deluded and egotistical.

Do we know for certain that Marinakis didn't put his shares in a blind trust after March 1st, or is it a rumour, i cant remember anything now.

The rule is trash. Either scrap it or make it like the FA one where you can't have shares, administrative control or management of more than one club across UEFA. Ideally FIFA too. If you have multi clubs then none can enter there competitions. That would soon sort things out. Give all current multi clubs a year to divest in all but 1 club. Although I am sure they will find a way round it by have their wives own another club.

According to Google -

Evangelos Marinakis placed his Nottingham Forest shares into a blind trust on April 30, 2025, to comply with UEFA regulations regarding multi-club ownership. This was done in anticipation of Nottingham Forest potentially qualifying for the Champions League, as Marinakis also owns Olympiacos, who had already secured their place.

Thank you Teddy, so the March 1st rule cannot be the reason, if, we are not allowed, and with Olympiacos in the Europa League, Forest are not allowed either.

I heard he gave notice about the blind trust by the deadline but it didn't happen until afterwards. What's interesting is that, if they exclude us and let Forest in, they will have two teams owned by one person in the Europa League - as there is no blind trust currently -whilst Lyon and Palace have no connection whatsoever. It will make no sense for integrity and can only be considered corrupt.

Textor just stated, “The notification email from UEFA was sent to the CPFC inbox in late February.” The man was set up to fail, which is something I have always maintained.
I’m pretty sure that Textor doesn’t have sole responsibility for the contents of that inbox !

And as Textor also said, given the the way that Palace are governed he saw absolutely no reason to put his shares into a Blind Trust at that time.

There's something about Textor I definitely don't trust. Being involved in multiple clubs means you can't give your 100% to one club. Despite that he he wanted to be heavily involved in all the decision making at Palace. I think Parish knew that he wasn't the right fit for us. Despite what happens regarding our participation in Europe, we won the FA Cup which is amazing 😍

JT queried whether SP would achieve Europa League football in the future years, saying, he’s lost his director of football, then I thought he said “and his manager”. JT was interrupted and the point wasn’t developed. Did anyone else notice that? Was this an oblique reference to Glasner’s decision on his CPFC future?

Yes, I'd agree that Parish's tactics are to first and foremost avoid relegation, but he has always been cautious about trying to progress at a faster rate than out financial security will allow, and rightly so I would say.

Just look where Textor's more 'gung-ho' tactics have got all the other clubs he is involved with!
