Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

Yes, UEFA are not fit for purpose, end of
Wouldn't you just love to take it out of their hands and tell em to shove their competition up their arse ,we have to plan for next season . Bunch of spineless corrupt cvnts . If they could find a way to take the FA cup off us id say they would try .

Yes agree, why else wait for the Lyon appeal to be completed.

I suspect they 1st March rule is the one they are focusing on, so on that date we were in breach of their rules. The fact that Textor clearly doesn't/didn't have a controlling interest etc appears to be less relevant to them.

An absolute joke, if the true.
But in that case they could have issued a statement later in 17 May saying we were in breach of their rules and so were ineligible for their competition. Unless CPFC are so low on their list that they didn't know anything about the ownership issue.

And the fact is that we possibly weren't compliant at that time in UEFA's eyes.

If, following their investigation, that is the case then I don't see how the Lyon situation has a bearing on the matter. Other to find them a rationale for fudging their own rules.

When I looked into the Red Bull situation, for example, they were given time to get their house in order. They restructured a bit, retired a few people and made a couple of commitments.
We've already reached the point where we're less linked than they were when they both competed. We're not linked at all now, frankly.
Everyone else has previously been allowed to restructure. We have - kind of accidentally really - but we were never as linked as other teams anyway
This whole thing smells.

We are going to become the answer to a pub quiz question -

Which UK based top tier men's professional football team qualified for European competition participation on 2 separate occasions but were never actually allowed to compete in either competition ?

F**king joke.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest.
This is just ridiculous now and shows UEFA to being the hypocrites that they are given their appetite for snouts in the trough at virtually any opportunity vs. their reported moral code of conduct.

Let's be honest and say that few reckoned on Palace winning The FA Cup and as momentous as the victory was (and still is) every reasonable effort by the club has been made to SUBSEQUENTLY prepare for European competition including the selling of Textor's shares. The only factor linking Palace with Lyon is Textor and the latter has now effectively severed his links from BOTH clubs:

Interesting how The FA is far less stringent in terms of such a moral code of conduct by way of league participation unless proven incorrect?

It doesn’t look good. If the French league are totally honest we are OK, a situation that shouldn’t even still be in dispute doesn’t fill me with optimism . It wouldn’t seem we actually had a case of our own , or why have UEFA not ruled purely on that?

It definitely looks like our place in Europe is dependent upon whether or not Lyon win their appeal. Otherwise there’s no reason to delay a decision on Palace. The only other possibilities are that they’re waiting for the PL to confirm Textor’s sale of Palace or asking their lawyers if his resignation from Lyon changes things. Neither of these seem likely so we have to hope Lyon’s appeal against relegation fails or is changed to a reduction in points for last season taking them out of 6th place.
Either way our plans for next season are screwed big time. I’m not losing sleep over missing out on Europe per se but more that it impacts on Ollie’s decision to extend his contract and that it allows the Weed to gloat next season as they take our spot.

You are not the only one !
All the uncertainty with negative ramifications for us.
I am not just simmering, I have boiled over.
😡 😡
Time to get the FA off their backsides. It’s about their competition winner and they have direct access to Uefa. I have asked my MP (his constituency backs onto Whitehorse Lane) to get the Minister for Culture Media and Sport to kick them into action. If you can do the same we might get something done or even a question in PMQs. Oh for a Regulator to get the job done for us.

We could always try a mass online picket of Uefa. It worked a treat when we were trying to get out of administration.

Perhaps its being dragged out so that by the time we get to CAS (if that's where this ends up) the Europa League competition will have already started so any victory there will be meaningless.

They simply don't want us they want Lyon as a more established European club.

UEFA a corrupt organisation and we just don't fit the bill.

By the time they announce any decisions. I will be too late for us to do anything about it. So I would simply say sod it and start the legal.action now.

We won't be playing in Europe next season.....

But if it's purely on this joke of a '1st March' rule then surely Lyon are also in breach of this so neither team should be allowed to enter. The whole thing is an absolute farce and we have the right to be fuming if we don't get in. They've bent over backwards to give 'big' clubs safe passage before.

I've had enough now. They can stick their competition where the sun don't shine!! Let's have a solid pre season, a better start to the season than last year and concentrate on achieving a better points tally that last season. COYP
