I think I understand. Textor has resigned his position with Lyon, but he still has his money in , until he can find a buyer. ? Meaning he has no influence. Which means there's definitely no conflict on interest with Palace.
He doesn't need to resign from Palace as his influence is negligible anyway. He just needs a buyer.

is that right ?

He has a buyer (Woody) and he has agreed the sale. (Legally bound agreement)

Still will take another 3 weeks or so to go through

Woody Johnson will need to pass the fit and proper person test. There is a low bar.

And the Premier League need to ratify it.

Apparently a Mr. Steve Parish is buying his Lyon shares.

he was US Ambassador for UK so he ticked 90% of the pass fit so its a shoe in
 
I understand the delay in UEFA's descision is due to their deliberation on whether to consider Palace's Mickey Mouse Cup (aka ZDS) win in 1991 as an extra reason to allow the club to play in the Europa Cup.

Sky sports reporting Textor sold his shares in Palace last week. But I'm always wary when stories are only reported by one media group.
 
UEFA decision delayed....more to follow (BBC)

I think they're waiting for official confirmation of Textors activities. Once they're completed, we can expect Palace to be in Europe.
 
Unless Palace are being told things behind the scenes, then this is a big issue, as how can the club plan for next season not knowing whether we'll be in Europe? The statement also seems to imply that if Lyon are reinstated to Ligue 1 then we'll be booted out of the Europa League. If that isn't the case, then surely it has no bearing on our place in the competition?

Is this just the Saudi guy f*cking with Textor?

Begs the question of what happens if their appeal is successful.

The implication for me is that they would take the European place instead of us.
Why else would they have to wait for the result of the appeal before deciding if Palace can participate.

Perhaps my reading of the situation is incorrect, but that's how it appears.
