Mateta's contract.

Apparently we've got him til '27. But we need to pay him £100k/wk if we are not already.
He has to be worth more to us than Nketia.

Having him until the summer of 2027 is fantastic news for Palace when we see the Arsenals, the Uniteds and the Spuds scouring Europe desperately trying to find a decent striker. This probably means we'll be fending off interest in him in the summer window but I cant see Parish dealing unless an offer comes in that reflects his current form.
Thing is though, I expect he will decline another contract extension from here on in. Understandable as he wants to play as high a level as he can. I'd imagine we'll either see him leave for free in the summer of 27 or (much more likely) he'll be sold a year earlier.
The only way to keep him longer would be if Glasner got us into Europe which is not impossible but looking a tall order from where we are right now.

Nketia at £90k/wk contract for 4.5 more years is the big one that jumps off the page.
Mateta should negotiate to get £110k until 2029 with a release clause set at £55m after 2027.
Kamada has 18 months to go at £4.5m p.a., so his total cost to us will be £9m. Considering he was free, that is a very good deal.
If we had paid £5m for him which would have been super cheap, he would be earning £40k/week. So he might be coming up well short at the moment but he has already shown there is something there and if not, well his contact expires next summer.

Problem is if he becomes Prem top scorer (or close to it) we'd be selling ourselves short by setting a release clause at £55m. A top club would gladly pay £100m these days for a 20+ goal a season striker

Mateta is doing well and probably deserves a payrise, however, i would prefer it to be no more than £100k per week, which appears to be our limit these days.

He is 28 in the summer so is at his peak. We want to avoid say a 4 or 5 year contract IMHO as that has burnt us in the past (Punch, Luka, Jairo etc).

Maybe 3 years until 2028 with a release clause of say £60m

Has Halaand broken his neck?

I wouldn't know but its Salah who is currently top so that isn't too relevant right no. I did say 'close to being a top scorer'
JPM is level with Ollie Watkins and ahead of Nicolas Jackson, Liam Delap, Cody Gakpo and Kai Havertz right now and showing no signs of slowing down. Its not that big a stretch to imagine him scoring another 8 or 9 goals between now and the end of the season. If he achieved that we will 100% will be fending off interest in him.
I'd be surprised if some clubs aren't watching him closely already
