Forest top 4/5 ? We are a better team and only behind them due to our slow start. That could easily be us next year in a European spot. As for losing DF we are now an attractive club to join and don’t need him to be ‘selling’ us to any top championship player.Well its not simple because he may not want to extend. If he was willing to he might want a release clause inserted that was way lower than Parish was willing to accept. And offering him a 'bumper contract' is also not simple. The club has the wage bill and wage structure to think about. If the club were to suddenly offer him say £150,000 a week do you not think Eze, Lacroix, Munoz, Hughes, Hendo, and any other player that has equal claim to the teams current form wouldn't be banging on Parish's door seeking pay parity? And quite rightly so too. JPM is a fantastic target man but thats all he is. Its Eze, Sarr, Wharton, Hughes that make his chances. Its the back 3/5 that stop them going in the other end.
I'm all for offering JPM a new improved contract but it has to be within the parameters of what the club can afford. My guess is he'll refuse to sign an extension. The lad wants a crack at CL football. We cannot offer him that so if we had a decent offer from Arsenal, Forest or any other top 4/5 club that need a striker I'd bet we'll reluctantly sell.
Forest don’t need a striker. They have one in Wood. As to the suggestion we are a better team it’s just not true this season. They have 15 more points than us. Saying it is due to our slow start is just another way of saying they have more points because they’ve won more games and lost fewer. The league table doesn’t weight points to when in the season you got them. 3 points is 3 points whether gained in August, December or May.Forest top 4/5 ? The sky interview (only read parts) shows what a good character he is. He seems to hold no ill will towards Roberts and laments the online abuse he has received.I've just read an interview that JPM has given to a French publication.
He says he told the doctor who attended him on the field v Millwall that he wanted to play on.
Surely a case of above and beyond the call of duty!
