He’s very good positionally but not the quickest centre back in the league and Vardy is very quick even at his age. He’s suited to England’s patient (ponderous) style of play but I do wonder if he’s as comfortable with Glasner’s quick game. I can see him moving in January. Click bait says he doesn’t fancy Chelsea. Cant see him replacing the Arsenal centre backs and Levy won’t pay the asking price so Liverpool might be his best option.
I suspect we will end the season with Lacroix in between Riad and Chalobah. A more mobile central defence that suits Glasner’s style of play.
 
According to Football 365 ( yeah I know ), Guehi reportedly has said that he wants to play for a bigger club than Newcastle. And that he would '' jump at the chance to play for Liverpool ''.

All of which I told that bitter Geordie that was on HOL a few weeks ago.

I watched the Greece game which on paper was going to be a tough match. I thought Guehi and Jones were pivotal in getting the result and both were excellent.
 
I think he’s been back to some good form in the last few games. Some of the early season form must have been down to having to work out how to play with two new defensive partners without having any pre-season with them. That must be hard to do.
 
He's a quality player, but you don't win games by having a classy centre-back in a sub-standard team. This season he has also made regular mistakes, but I am still delighted to have him at Palace.

Yes Mr R, he does appear supportive of his place as Palace captain. Pity his old mate Conor couldn't be here with him.

I think moving back to the left of the back 3 has helped.
He's not commanding enough to be in the middle unlike Anderson who was much more suited to this role.

Not the same type of player.

I got a feeling Palace will come to regret not taking the offer.

He has not looked good this year and not signed a new contract either
 
I don’t think we’ll lose Guehi in January but I do think he will leave in the Summer. Probably to Liverpool, unless Newcastle get desperate and start a bidding war but even then I think MG wants Liverpool, The Champions League and to be a part of how they are playing atm under Arne Slot. Also Liverpool are a way bigger team than the Mags.

I don’t think the fee will be outstanding (unless he does go to Newcastle) as Liverpool will be less likely to give us what we want.
 
There is an article on the Sun website saying Guehi wants to hold out for a move to Liverpool. Probably bollocks as it’s about to be silly season for bullshit stories.
