Marc Guehi

That Newcastle fan, so bitter, they’re not as big as they think they are, they’ve won the same as us the last 50 odd years, f*** all. Marc ending up staying with us is a reality check for them I think, all Marc would’ve done is move north and still win nothing.

Maybe he asked Dougie why he didn't go there when they approached him earlier.

If you have been reading the Newcastle Forums you would KNOW Newcastle fans aren't upset at Guehi. The majority of fans think the price Parish was asking for was madness. He played three good games against absolute duffers. If you think he's worth more than £45 m then you're absolutely delusional. Even Palace insiders were saying Parish had to be careful, because if you continue to fall down the league - probably and Guehi hardly adding to his price - then you'll get no more that £30m next year for him.

By the way if you tHink Guehi is staying because he loves Palace, sniggers, then your crazy. Money money money is what it's all about, even for a " nice " man like Guehi

Newcastle fans are fuming because we should have walked away, three weeks ago. Apparently there were three other targets. Go on read the boards again, its all there. We have £120m burning a hole in our pocket and haven't brought anybody. Eels the Managing Director didn't release the purse and rumours flying around Tyneside PIF are fuming and he will be sacked start of next week. Our time will come because the FA know they can't stop teams like Newcastle spending. Just a matter of waiting, our owners are only worth £634 Billion, and they don't do second best.

Good luck with Geuhi, he's a nice man right....sniggers
School restarts soon.

That all makes as much sense as going out in minus 5 degrees wearing a mini dress.

Geordies. 🤣

Dud I say they were upset with Guehi, maybe he didn’t want to go and take the blood money. You are fuming because little old Palace didn’t bow to the blood money. The vitriol towards Parish, Palace and us fans is astounding, disgraceful but very amusing. How dare anyone take the piss out of Newcastle, snigger. Go spend the blood money, hope your LGBT fans enjoy it, hypocrites.
We have Guehi for now, snigger. He will go, probably next year, probably for less but not to the no shirt beer bellied tossers who don’t know a cockney from their arseholes.
Enjoy the blood money burning a hole in your pockets. Of course as you all said when the Saudis took over, “ it’s not about winning, it’s about a well run club” snigger snigger.
I’m sure you and others will eventually bully the PL/FA but of course it’s not about winning is it? Now go and lick smug Eddies arse , snigger

The narrative has changed on various outlets to say that Steve Paish was "petty" and "vindictive" over this deal due to their previous approach to Dougie. Nothing about them not offering the right price or Guehi not wanting to go there anyway.
You'd think that Steve had other things on his mind during the window than winding up another club who finished three places higher than we did and maybe this says more about their approach than ours.

Jamie Redknapp on sky bollocks saying that...

"Mark Guehi needs to just knuckle down, keep his head down and crack on and his dream move will happen next time".

This prat is talking even more nonsense than normal with his shining head. He is making out that Palace stopped him getting his dream move and its unfair for him because Andersen going stopped any move.

What an utter load of bollocks. MG has never wanted to move to Sandcastle. He is a level headed fella and looked at his options and decided to stay a Palace. He may not be here for years but right now he is happy with Palace. If he wasn't then he would have gone at £65 million. No way Parish and board don't take that with only 2 years left on his contract unless MG has agreed something.

It really gets on my wick when these news outlets make it out to be more than it is. Newcastle never offered enough on and off the field for MG to want to go. It is that simple.
The same Jamie Rednapp who's best mate is a director at Newcastle. The same Jamie Rednapp that bought Shares in Newcastle when the Saudis moved in.
Newcastle have behaved in an incredibly arrogant manner over this whole Marc Guehi issue. To start with they thought they could bully Palace into selling. They truly believed they were capable of turning the players head. They seemed to be of the belief that because Palace is run on a sound financial footing that we somehow have money grabbing owners that will bite your hand off for a derisory offer. They seem to believe Parish is another uncle Ron.
The story they put out that they finally put the offer down that Palace 'demanded' but Palace 1. told them it was too late and 2. moved the goalposts by upping their demands are starting to emerge as complete lies just to save face with the media as well as their own fans.
From what I've been told and have since read in the Sundays is Palace had no demands. A figure was never given to Newcastle in terms of what we 'wanted'. What Palace wanted was to keep the player. Had Newcastle stopped dicking around and tried to behave like a serious club and just went straight in with a big offer that we found hard to turn down it probably would have been a different story. Equally if Marc had wanted to go (another lie that Newcastle put out) I have no doubt Palace would have come to the negotiating table because there is no point forcing a player to stay against his will. In reality neither of those things happened. They also put out a story that he'd already agreed personal terms. Again, lies.
In the end Newcastle will either learn from this or they will keep missing out on targets going forward. They need to 1. treat clubs Palace size with more respect and 2. accept the painful truth that they do not even come close to the pulling power of anyone in the top six. In terms of size and stature I see them as similar in attractiveness to a Spurs (without the stadium or the London location) or a West Ham (with a lot more money). They are bigger than us but smaller than many other clubs. Money, no matter how much of it you have will not change that overnight. Especially when the conduct themselves the way they have in this particular negotiation.
