Marc Guéhi

without doubt Guehi is important to us but getting £30m in now could allow us to strengthen the team overall to help us in the competitions we're in this season. We're not exactly killing it in defence right now. Glasner's issue was that we didn't have a replacement lined up, not necessarily with the general idea of selling Guehi.

I agree with you, but I'd also point out that Richards and Muñoz are a huge loss for us defensively. I think Canvot can be very useful, but like anyone, he's better when he's surrounded by better teammates.

Yup if City really want him then then make Ake will be part of the deal.
We don't have enough room in the medical room to facilitate Ake and his ongoing injury issues, he is never fit for more than 4 or 5 games.
Guehi won't go to City with Bayern and Real M showing interest. It's his choice not Parish's now, he will see his contract out, then get a huge signing on fee. Good luck to him, he has acted impeccably in this whole saga.

I agree Mark has demonstrated great professionalism. But I also think he wants to go to the bin dippers (God knows why 🙏 !! ) and if we could manage the situation where they feel they will miss out (especially to City) then we could create the pressure for them to make a big offer.
As a fan I would be delighted to see Mark stay till the end of the season, but money talks.

At yesterday's press conference Glasner acknowledged that Guehi will go in January if an acceptable offer comes in and if Guehi wants to leave.
Man City have a number of defensive injuries and are rumoured to be considering a bid.
If Guehi had told the club he was not interested in any move until the summer at least, then Glasner could have quashed any speculation, so perhaps Guehi would be open to a move if the terms were right although you would imagine that financially he would be in the most advantageous position in the summer when there would be no transfer fee to pay.

I assume the stance is the same as it was in the Summer; That we'll need a replacement before we can sanction any move, tho I haven't seen many rumours involving defenders for this January....

Why would Mark go anywhere now? Im sure he will be looking for a signing on fee of at least £15m, (which as a free agent would be at least double that in the summer).
So if Palace want £30m, the deal will cost a club £45m. Really? Why not just wait to the summer?
