Kamada will be an asset

He does seem to get brushed off the ball and lose possession far too easily, but my biggest complaint about him was that what does he actually give us or do? Well at at least now he’s given us a winning goal in the cup, he’s actually done something memorable
Yup what I noticed is that he doesn't anticipate that a defender will be on him immediately when he receives the ball. I guess in Germany and Italy they have more time.

The other night in the first half (on several occasions) as the ball was passed to him instead of turning so that he chest faced the ball and his back would be against a defender, he allowed the ball to run across his chest so that he could take it and turn. Of course the defender nipped in and pinched it.

So this wasn't so much being pushed off the ball but not protecting the ball as he received it. This can be coached out of him.

I hope he comes good and kicks on after scoring against Villa. We need him to with the Eze injury (starting him was surely daft). However, in the Villa game he also gave the ball away a lot including one terrible pass that put their striker in. For me he is still out of position a lot which leads to him losing the ball and not being able to link with his teammates. Hopefully he can learn this and get on the same wavelength as the rest of the team.

Regretfully with current injuries we will probably see him alongside Hughes for the Wolves match. As many have said, it would be good to see him in the Eza position but I can’t see that happening Saturday unless Wharton / Doucoure recover?

Yes, I suspect it is all about body position. There are plenty of players who are not built like Adama Traore and they "win" stacks of free kicks. He could be our new Ayew

Yep, 100% agreed. That's one of the main problems of players adapting to PL.

I firmly believe that we will be 'Put to the sword' tomorrow and I for one will not be just one disappointed hombre at the end of the game, I shall be 'Steaming' akin to woks at a Chengdu dumpling stall.

Kamada will be encouraged by his goal against A.Villa but is yet to convince the supporters that he will prove to be an asset.

are you using the 'royal We'?

Let's hope Kamada has a boost in confidence after Villa because this is the point where he needs to step up and show that the faith OG has put in him was not misplaced.

Lost the ball every time he was on it today. I just don’t think that he’s good enough for the Premier League.

I thought he was always prepared to make himself available for a pass and look for a team mate to pass to. He also tackled and won the ball back a few times. He did get caught in possession at times partly because he accepted the ball in tight situations and partly because he’s used to having more time on the ball.

He’s a bit lightweight and gets bullied, but there’s definitely a player in there. It’s a shame we’re short of DMs as he’s more of an 8 ir 10 and a decent substitute for Eze. A lot of the criticism on here is over the top.

Kamada does many facets of the game quite well.
He takes up good positions, supports his teammates and always makes himself available to receive a pass.
He makes lot of interceptions to break up the play.
However, what he does badly can cost us.
He's so eager to make interceptions that he commits himself and is then out of the game (as happened with one of the goals today).
He can also make risky passes in areas of the field which leave us vulnerable.

The question is whether his strengths outweigh his weaknesses.

I'm happy to give him the benefit of the doubt during these early weeks .

Yes, Patrick - that's the Kamada I saw at last night's game. He does seem to be gradually getting to grips with the PL but it's painful at times watching him getting there.

Your predictions aren't very good a bit like Genuflect winning the walk to Tory leader.
