Historically when it was a British colony right? What's their record from 1979 onwards?Historically Iran was peaceful, its borders unchanged. Whereas Israel has been pretty consistent in its movement into the West Bank.

These goons are so deluded.Apart from the Persian and Achaemenid empires, the Arab and Mongol invasions, conflict with the Ottomans, modern day revolutions, the war with Iraq and in recent times supporting proxy groups in the region. 🙄
So you'll forgive Iran because Iraq started it. Interesting.Iraq started that one,, the earlier ones you're going in ancients of which I have no knowledge
Not as far as I'm aware, we did go in during WW2 when Iran was neutral and there were Germans in residenceHistorically when it was a British colony right? What's their record from 1979 onwards?
Have you read the thread? So you'll forgive Iran because Iraq started it. Interesting.
Did you Google for that?

Lol cornered cos you said something dumb about Iran and peace. Not as far as I'm aware, we did go in during WW2 when Iran was neutral and there were Germans in residence
There's a lot of anger here.....and for a war thousands of miles away, imagine what it would be like if...God forbid England starts a war with Wales.
No, actually that could be fun.
That annoying accent has to go.
It's ok. I know loads of Welsh living in Glos, lots of banter
I don't tend to go with the sheep angle. I usually ask them what it's like living in the county of wales or just laugh at their rubgy team
Once you throw in oct 7 th no !So you accept that the state of Israel occupies the same moral plane as Hamas?
Disagree all you like. It is about pragmatism. They don't care what the world thinks, but they do need support from the United States, who want to see the end of Iran's nuclear ambitions but in a limited conflict.I disagree that it’s not about morality - they know the world would turn on them if they ever did it.
Yes, militaries decide not to take numerous options available to them during conflicts in the name of morality.
When I said civil war I didn't mean on the streets of LondonI'm not so sure about that. In the cities and towns most Iranians are actually western looking so yes they would like a modern Islamic country like Morocco or Tunisia.
However in the countryside and outside of the major cities the locals are far more in favour of the country strict Islamic regime.
It's quite likely that this could lead to civil war.
Ha! I bet if it were France v anyone you would be backing anyone!Whereas you argue without seeing the bigger picture.
To continue to grade or compare the level of barbarity for various atrocities is totally pointless.
Your middle class morality doesn't apply in the Middle East.
Israel are our allies in that region. That is all you need to know. You don't have to like it or them, but just understand what that means.
I am simply pointing out your naivety.Ha! I bet if it were France v anyone you would be backing anyone!
And there would be no abandonment of any rule of law or morality as there is with Israel (so long as they restrict the butchery to lesser brown types). You would expect the civilised nations to hold France to account.
I know we have to sign Faustian pacts for the greater good (USSR in WWII). But the difference is that, in the middle east, the problem is Israel.
wibbleBecause Netanyahu and others of his regime have given press releases on the subject.
Many.
It is not that difficult to look them up.
