Historically Iran was peaceful, its borders unchanged. Whereas Israel has been pretty consistent in its movement into the West Bank.

Historically when it was a British colony right? What's their record from 1979 onwards?

Apart from the Persian and Achaemenid empires, the Arab and Mongol invasions, conflict with the Ottomans, modern day revolutions, the war with Iraq and in recent times supporting proxy groups in the region. 🙄

Not as far as I'm aware, we did go in during WW2 when Iran was neutral and there were Germans in residence

Disagree all you like. It is about pragmatism. They don't care what the world thinks, but they do need support from the United States, who want to see the end of Iran's nuclear ambitions but in a limited conflict.
Dropping nuclear bombs also risks reprisals. Pakistan has nukes, for example.

I'm not so sure about that. In the cities and towns most Iranians are actually western looking so yes they would like a modern Islamic country like Morocco or Tunisia.

However in the countryside and outside of the major cities the locals are far more in favour of the country strict Islamic regime.

It's quite likely that this could lead to civil war.

What is the left-wing obsession with skin colour ("lesser brown types")? It's got nothing to do with skin colour or race.
