Israel v Hamas

The most gung-ho for wars tend to be those least likely to fight in them.

Wars are so damaging that they only make sense on an existential level. Unless they are obvious foregone conclusions sensible politicians do their best to avoid them and close them down. However, we don't live in the times of intellectuals like Kennedy or Nixon.....Instead we have Biden, Trump and Harris.
Yes, seen too many of them very recently. Peaked within the last week unfortunately.

Notice at the start he’s getting impatient with the clotting and cell repair process so he’s picking at the scab. Thought he might eat it like a bogey at one point.

I do not have any worthwhile knowledge of pagers and their potential to explode. After all, we've seen how electric cars can do similar things to what is shown happening with these pagers.
It would seem the intricate nature of having to detonate ordinary pagers, would be too complex to incorporate factors, such as:

Timing
Explosion size
ensuring innocent pagers aren't detonated by mistake.

These pagers would almost certainly have been purchased as a 'job lot' , and the explosives and detonators fitted at the manufacturer/supplier stage.
And yet again, the videos show bystanders being seriously injured in what is actually a very risky operation , in terms of 'collateral damage', or killing of innocents.
The impact is obviously massive in terms of psychological warfare and the infiltration/sabotage of the supply chain of (military) equipment

Amazing how Mossad pulled this off.
I try to steer clear of this thread but I am disgusted with the Israelis, this was not a pin point precision strike, sure some bad guys have been injured, but what about the collateral damage.

This will impact us all. How long before the terrorists say okay we can do the same? I flew home yesterday and there was increased security at the 3 airports I passed through. Don't be surprised when they introduce increased security measures for electronic devices when travelling.

This is generally the way I look at it. It only causes more trouble for us - without actually sorting very much at all.
If a link to US intelligence is found then it's a whole round of terror attacks on the way. If.
As it stands Israel is going to be at war with someone for about as long as England was with France.

I agree with most of the recent comments. My sympathy was broadly with the Israelis, but what they are doing now is crazy. It's just stoking a situation which needs to be calmed down (however that might be achieved), and those of us in the West will undoubtedly become targets by association. Our nation's support for Israel needs to be conditional on their adherence to international law (ie no illegal settlements) and on responses which are not wildly disproportionate. To say their country is let down by Netanyahu is an understatement. But I guess it is easy for me to pronounce on this from the comfort of the Home Counties.
