Israel v Hamas

There were plenty of stories about Hamas when it was them being the obvious aggressor. That’s no longer true. The stories now are about Israeli tactics and the consequences.

That’s undeniable, despite the whataboutery that some want to use to muddy the water. There is no need to constantly state the obvious about Hamas, what they are and what they do is well known. What’s new are the Israeli responses.
I give you TDS and TR as an ironic link to your second paragraph 😂😂😂

UK to recognise Palestine statehood in september together with France - Macron had already moved first.

There will be some disappointment with conditions attached but this is still a significant move by the UK.

😎

And a stupid one which will alienate more voters than it gains. Talk about giving in to terrorists

Hamas has the money and could help its people - but chooses not to! They see humanitarian aid as someone else's problem. Yet Israel are the bad guys according to the ignorant.

"Hamas has constructed a parallel economy — one for war and one for the people. The war economy is well-funded. The civilian one is starved and outsourced to the UN.”
Middle East Institute, 2024

Coming late to this and in all fairness the police published pics of the four post 7/7 bombers (the crap ones). All good enough images where there were 100s of folk who would recognise them.

The police got ONE positive ID (from his dad). The rest had to be found through police work.

The community would not give up their own notwithstanding what they had attempted and what they would assuredly have tried again. I also suspect de Menezes may still be alive.

If I was from that community I would be ashamed.
How do you know that? Or are you assuming it because if information is given quietly to protect the informant nobody other than two people are going to know. Keeping the identity of informants secret is not unusual in policing.

Starmer has crossed a line today - a line which may be his downfall.
He has said - on mine and your behalf - that the UK will recognise and support a terrorist organisation.
I am dumbfounded by this and may it be the act that finishes his term as PM.
He is scum.

Don’t be ridiculous.

He has said we will recognise Palestine as a state. Not Hamas as its government. It’s merely a lever to exert pressure on Israel.

I would think any crossing has two sides. The Egyptian side has been closed since not long after the conflict. Although I do believe it stayed open for a little while - with obvious consequences. The Israeli side would have to close until they gained full control - which they now have. Now they want to inspect everything for arms - which is understandable. However, it doesn't matter as Egypt is not sending anything through.
Just my reading of it. Not lies as much as omissions I would think.
I expect an agreement can be reached but Israel/ Egypt agreements are perhaps not easy to thrash out. Usually takes a tank brigade or two. Throw in the Palestinians and it's a difficult situation. Clearly, Egypt does not want to intervene or take refugees.
Israel is not allowing aid to enter there. They now control all aid, both the entering and the distribution. They hold sole responsibility for the present situation.

What worries me is who could take his place from the labour party.

You got that first quote from Wikipedia – and there is no media or official citation to that. So yes it is probably made up.

And as for the second one...

I got the first quote from Google! Does it need a citation when Israel itself announced it?

As they announced a daily pause in the fighting for a few days in response to international pressure. If that has resulted in Rafah reopening then that’s to be welcomed. It’s happened before only to see it closed again very quickly. Time will tell if this time it’s real or just a publicity stunt. Reports suggest it isn’t actually true this time:-

Anything to appease the Muslim voter base of the UK and far left.
