Is the club defrauding loyal supporters?

I like to think of it as our s*** 'ole and we care who sits there amongst us. Being priced out by dodgy ticket agencies and Tourist types.

Myself and a mate were only talking at the game the other day about the Arthur Waite enclosure we used to stand in in our youth. The same massive metal post under the TV stand that we used to have to move around to make sure we could see back in the 70’s when we were kids is still there. Not many premier league fans can say that in their shiny new stadiums 😀

Oh yes the New Stand Enclosure, my location of choice from 78 to 82. Used to stand halfway between the Whitehorse and centre of pitch. Some characters there then.

Same period as us, though we hung around there until 1990 when they put the seats in there. once the crowds started thinning out drastically in the early 80’s we probably knew each other by sight

Yes indeed.....like many others I could not watch Palace during the Alan Mullery period.....many never came back.

It was incredible how low the crowds did get, I stuck with it, but if Mullery had signed Brian Horton I think that would’ve been the last straw, I really did hate that piece of s***

Don't look like Brighton Fans have a problem getting tickets to watch their club. Loads of spaces all around the ground. Or perhaps their ticket holders just cant be bothered to turn up and watch them having paid out.

I wonder if the trains from Brighton were empty by the time Palace fans boarded.

I would imagine most of the Brighton fans would have been home by them, tucked up in bed crying themselves to sleep.

I wonder if CPFC could offer Brighton some support for our next visit to the Amex. 10,000 tickets available to Palace supporters would help to fill their stadium. Would need to be a family outing with perhaps a Palace Club Shop or two on the trains, ensuring that any tourists that get tickets have pure Palace scarves.

I love your thinking on this

They, like Villa and soon to be Man Utd, have to attend a certain amount of games or they lose their season ticket for the following season.

They always have plenty of empty tickets there though.

Never understood this, paying a fortune for a ticket and not using it. Surely like us they have a method of transferring to a friend?

I think the problem is it’s so much cheaper to get a season ticket even if you know you’re going to miss a few games. It certainly is at palace, it’s been that way for years. I know I could miss about 5 games and still get my money’s worth

Perhaps the season ticket holders turn up but they can't sell the other tickets.

The Etihad is also quite embarresing for the amount of empty seats too.

Prior to this current blip at Citeh it must have become quite monotonous for fans, turning up at the Etihad every home game, in all weathers, in countless competitions, over a number of years, just expecting to win regardless of who you were playing against -

I've never understood the mentality of a big 6 supporter. The joy for the rest of us is we don't know what's going to happen.

It's a bit like these superhero movies the public love, they are so predictable. Superman is never really in peril because they make too much money out of him.

When you consider it, Google etc are complicit in this. I just put in Brighton tickets and then Man City tickets. The club's barely appear in the searches but all the tickets resale sites come up first. Obviously paying to appear higher in searches.

Back in the 1970’s man United, Chelsea and spurs all managed to get themselves relegated, Man City ended up in the 3rd division. But you know they wouldn’t even get close to it now, you could almost say it would be impossible, barring a points points deduction and even then it would have to be a pretty massive one
