Is the club defrauding loyal supporters?

When you consider it, Google etc are complicit in this. I just put in Brighton tickets and then Man City tickets. The club's barely appear in the searches but all the tickets resale sites come up first. Obviously paying to appear higher in searches.
Yes probably one of the reasons they have to charge so much for tickets, Wish the club would get a grip on their tickets

Presumably ticketing platforms pay for SEO
(Search Engine Optimisation - linked to specific key words or phrases)

I am no expert but I have worked for a couple of companies that have people focus on how to appear first in google searches / google adds etc (often subcontractors)

I really just do not get this: So the 4 seats in front of me are always taken by "Tourists" paying a fortune.
Today I thought wow, the club must be acting at last, empty seats. Illusion destroyed when 5 minutes before half time the "Tourists" turned up.
Why spend a fortune and then miss half the match?

In the main stand, just after we scored, I took the opportunity to answer the call of nature, as I got to the concourse 4 tourists had just gained entry & were standing in the concourse looking lost trying to decide which staircase they were going to use to look for their seats - ordinarily I am quite helpful in those situations but I just thought the same as you, if they cant even be bothered to get there in time for a 5.30 kick off with the game already started & 2 goals scored, then leave them to their own resources.

I would imagine they are the ones who took their seats in front of me....that's H Block.

I am in block G so quite possibly - I didnt get a good look at them but all Asian (Maybe Singaporean) the leader was more robust / tubby, white shirts - none of them looked like they knew where they were going so the possibility that it took them a while to find their seats is quite high.

It probably takes them a bit of time to recover from the shock of what a rat hole selhurst is compared to the top clubs they come to see 🤣

Yes but its our rat hole and very fond of it....Not sure if I want a new stand....but if it brings in lots of money cant argue against it

Our season tickets are gonna go up by a fair bit to pay for it though.

Apparently as one of the E400 I get first dibs on a seat in it but i don't think I'll be able to afford it as already struggle to pay for my seat in the Upper gallery.

I wish I could say it makes it a hard place to come for away teams, but it’s a myth. Someone somewhere on tv mentions it when we’re at home, but apart from the last few games of last season our home form has been poor for years. It was mentioned against Arsenal as they go on to beat us 5-1, if you need a win or a striker needs a goal, we can be easy pickings at home.

Hi Eritheagle,

Have they club said that anyone who's season ticket is over £400 gets fist dibs or do Main stand season ticket holders get first dibs ( as they did at Fulham) However with tickets at £3000 i dont think there was a stampede.

Hi, I'm fraid you misread what I wrote.

Those that were in the "E400" (displaced in 2019 to make way for the Lower Holmesdale singing section) apparently have first dibs. I'd forgotten that we were told that at the time til the two people who sit next to me mentioned it a few games ago.

So.....Again a group of 4 Tourists in front of me again. They paid a fortune through an agency ....for Southampton! The Club know and are doing NOTHING.

I also met a couple of growing tourists Mum and Son. They value their trips from Norway to London - staying in the former Jurys Inn and going to Palace at least once a year. They are growing into becoming loyal supporters.

relatives of mine spent two weeks here and filled it with games bought in the secondary market from cup games to prem to championship . It’s not just palace.

For those who have access, there's a fascinating article on the Athletic site re the problems Liverpool are having with both touts and fake tickets. Having read it I can begin to understand why Palace are having problems. There are no simple answers, it seems.

The article in The Athletic did say "The move from paper to digital tickets in recent years has arguably made it even easier for touts to operate as they no longer have to hang around Anfield on matchdays."

So there's the first thing they could address.

So once again, yesterday, in the 4 seats in front of me, 2 pairs of Tourists paying inflated prices to an agency. When will the club do something about this?
