Is Glasner the problem?

Being serious, now I've got over the raging hump from yet another poxy weekend I hope the board stick with Glasner as I think he is a very good manager. I just hope he starts to play our lads in their correct and preferred positions and realises Sarr should be playing wide,Kamada should be playing with himself and Eddie is a central striker not a feckin winger.
Also Mr Eze, get your arse in gear and stop your sulking lad!

At the risk of sounding like Ollie, I’d like to see Sarr wide on the left with Eze in the number 10 role. Sadly the best option we had as a left footed right winger is currently plying his trade with Sheffield United, and by all accounts doing well. Might be worth giving young Franco Umeh a run out on the right wing.

I suspect the gear Eze will be getting into will be Liverpool's in January so Kamada will be the option.

Frankly, he's going to have to improve if he's expecting Liverpool to remain interested.

At least we might get three months of him playing for a new contract even if it is for someone else. Hope not but it seems probable that he'll be away.

Watching saints and Bournemouth neither have an eze quality player. Nor do most teams. I think he is heads and shoulders above many. How to get it on the pitch is the mystery to me and probably glasnor.

You mean he is wildly inconsistent and drifts in and out of games? I agree.

The odd moments of brilliance are not enough over the course of a season unless he scores 20+

It’s not even scoring bundles for him that’s my concern. It’s his ability to set up chances which either he can’t be tossed about or the players around him are not on the same wave length.

Its no mystery at all, Mateta and Nketiah are CFs play both, with Eze as a No10, 3 solid midfielders, back 4, full backs attacking (not at the same time) one of the 3 solid midfielders, drops in to cover the FB, job done, Easy.

I've never felt like this before, but at the moment he's definitely droppable (granted we dont have anyone to drop him for)

I don't know if its a confidence thing, he's got the talent, but not the ability (like Wilf and Olise) to grab a game by the scruff of its neck. Games just seam to pass him by.

I’ve never felt he works hard enough and needs a balanced hard working 10 around him. He’s magic in matches win games for us, so Eza needs to play. It’s those around him that aren’t doing their jobs at the moment in my opinion and Glasner needs to pick the correct balanced team to complement him?

Eze is not a player you can position, he needs a free role, it you don't want him as a No10, don't play him

It just doesn't yet feel as if the team are gelling. I thought the 1st half against Everton was great in terms of passing and possession, but no final product. Ipswich really impressed me against Villa - we need that kind of cohesiveness, passion and direct style of football in order to do well this season.

I've been using the word 'clicked' but feel exactly the same.

We’re being outnumbered in central midfield playing 2 against usually 3 or 4 in the opposition.
This was ok at the end of last season when we were pressing high with our front 3 keeping the opposition pinned in.
We are not doing this currently and our lightweight midfield is being bypassed with our team being hit on the counter.
In the absence of Doucoure, I wouldn’t be averse to trying a solid midfield 3 of Lerma, Hughes and Wharton to try and get a foothold in the game and get a passing rhythm going.
To accommodate the extra midfielder the question then becomes do you sacrifice a defender or forward?
I would sacrifice a defender and play a back 4.
I don’t think Glasner will do this because he seems wedded to the current system and because he has so many central defenders to keep happy.

First of all let's not forget that Munoz and Lerma got to the Copa America final in the summer, Henderson, Wharton, Eze and Guehi got to the Euros final and Mateta got to the Olympics final. I wonder if another club had that many starting players without much of a summer break?

Various players are currently out of form, looking very tired or getting used to the system with new personnel.

I started another thead about Glasner starting seasons slowly and although I must admit I am getting a little worried, I do still think he'll come good.

I'd also urge everyone to keep in mind that if the experiment of us appointing Glasner, a progressive manager, fails then the likely we'll revert back to a Hodgson-esque 'safe' manager. I really don't want that and haven't forgotten how depressing supporting us was at times under Roy.

Our next five league games are Liverpool, Forest, Spurs, Wolves and Fulham. Given that we'll probably lose to Liverpool, Forest becomes a bit of a must win doesn't it because if we potentially go another three games without a win then the situation becomes a bit dire.

Glasner is intelligent n articulate. A leader. With a great track record. I am excited to have him at palace. He will sort this. Talk of anyone wanting him to leave is ridiculously premature.
Surely we give him more time unless something going on behind the scenes. We are not good right now but I like Glasner. Results will come but it’ll be a hard slog until January window when we replace Olise. Mad to sack him so soon after what he achieved last season

I don't think it's a case of people wanting to sack him.
It's more a case of realism.
We could easily fail to take points in our next 2 games (Liverpool, Forest) which would take our winless run almost into November.
Results determine things and good managers have lost jobs before.
