Is Glasner the problem?

Fair enough. It’s all opinions and I hope you are right. Personally I think being in the relegation zone with only 7 points and 8 goals from 11 games is being in trouble. Out of interest what would you regard as being in trouble?
Not sure its 'out of interest', probably more to do with looking to unpick my view but go on then, I'll bite.
What I would regard as being in trouble is being adrift in the bottom 3 (we're 3 points-1 win from 15th, 9 points from mid table with 27 yes Twenty Seven games to go)
I would regard being in trouble if our best players were fit and doing their best and results haven't changed (we haven't had our strongest fit team available yet)
I'd regard being in trouble as having mass long term injuries AFTER the January transfer window has shut (its already been mentioned more than once that the club will strengthen further in January. I imagine we'll know much better where its most urgent to strengthen by late December)
Above all else I'd regard being in trouble would be if we were running out of games. We've played 11 games. That isn't even a third of our fixtures. Glasner has proved before with previous clubs and with Palace that he is capable of turning his team's form on its head. We have time. We have loads of time.

Do I like seeing Palace struggle? Of course not. Do I think Glasner should be given unlimited time? Absolutely not. No one is saying that. What I do think is all supporters of football teams have a section that prefer to be positive and a section that seem to not be happy unless they are doom and gloom. Sadly Palace has way more of the later than the former. Theres reasons for that. Mainly years of let downs and disappointments. Being negative can also sometimes even act as a layer of protection against crushing disappointment. Having the 'I knew it' and the 'I told you so' mentality when things go wrong just doesn't help though.

I'm not immune from feeling down and depressed at Palace's past failures but I prefer to look up not down. Talking down our chances by stating that we're in trouble after just 11 games is up to you and your prerogative to feel that way. Its just not me though.

Not trying to unpick your opinion at all. Thank you for replying. I really hope you are right. It would give me great pleasure to be horribly wrong on this one.

Apropos "Being in trouble", only recently I was asked whether I was concerned about our plight and of course I expressed some unease and concern.

When I was ludicrously asked whether that I might be about to reach for the 'Panic button' my response was "Not on your nelly" given that we have only played 11 PL games.

Not just Olise.

IMO Wharton was critical to our transitional play. As a result our build up is slow and laboured.

We'll have to grind out some performances, but when he's back this team will start to tick.

For me, the biggest mistake was delaying his opp.
All you said is correct, but does he know how to grind out a result?

I don’t really get the view that as we’re not being battered we are somehow only one step away from winning games. We’ve scored five goals from eleven games. Five. Teams know that once they score against us they can just play it safe and we’re v unlikely to recover.

In your opinion. Mine is we have had a terrible first third of the season and for numerous reasons at that.
We will get our best players fit and we will be fine.

We are not in trouble at this stage. Not at all.
So if we lose our next 3 games, are we badly in trouble yet, or 4,5,6?

You reflect my thoughts and feelings regarding both what I would class as making me worried and positivity v negativity.

Let's see where we are at the year's end before asking whether or not we need to eb worried about our continued presence in this League.

I am not usually a doom merchant when it comes to the club's fortunes, and we have wriggled out of a few tricky situations over the last few seasons, but one thing I must say is that we never seem to learn our lesson. Poor pre-season preparation, late signings, poor signings, sicknotes, etc etc all lead to us never hitting the ground running when the season starts. All those poor decisions had to catch up with Chancer Parish at some stage, and here we are.
Maybe Parish thinks he'll wave his magic wand and three journeymen will arrive in January and all will be well. I have my doubts. We're currently sit in the bottom three and there's a strong likelihood that this is where we'll be come the New Year. Never mind eh?
