Is Glasner the problem?

Easy to criticize the manager and he has not done enough to suggest he is a winner in the Prem. The recruitment has left us with a squad that is below the quality to be comfortably mid table and even a new manager will face the same issues of us not being competitive in the transfer market and not supporting the manager with a decent squad. Kamada is a black mark for Glasner and we should move him out on loan to a European club in January. Continued lack of proper player investment will keep us in the relegation zone whether its Glassner or someone else.
The counter to that is that during our stay in the Premier League we’ve had a few times we’ve looked utterly hopeless only for a change of manager to make us look like a different team. Under Holloway in our first season back we looked laughably out of our depth. Pullis came in and we looked organised and positive. We were an utter shambles under FDB and then looked like an utterly different team under Hodgson. I think a change in system and a manager with more flexibility would make us look a whole lot better

Play more narrow - we rarely cross or connect with crosses anyway. And since we have players on the wings with their opposite feet (if we had Eze and Olise in an ideal world) we're not set up to cross anyway.

I understand that but I was responding to the formation that had 3 narrow midfielders and then a no.10 in Eze behind 2 no.9's who would also stay narrow.

What you are suggesting is what we've basically played for previous managers back to Pardew (Zaha and Bolasie either side of Wickham/Benteke). I haven't got a problem with that but I was just replying with a question to the line up that Lanzo had suggested we play.

OG is definitely the problem without a doubt we have won one game in 11 its about time we said goodbye to him his obsessed with playing kamada and his 343 system isnt working i reckon he has1 game left the results have been very poor

The Problem is Glasner will not alter his ideology, and even all players fit we still dont have the players to play it, so we wait until the Jan window, hoping that players that fit are available, and that we are not 10/12 points off safety, or we give him the elbow and get a manager in that will use the best formation for what we have now, which is what i would do.

Q? What, in your opinion, IS, the best formation for who we have if a new manager were to come in, who, is another Q?

You do wonder about his interview. What did he say: "I'll play this formation no matter what"?
Getting a bit surreal.

I have posted on, review of the season so far, two teams, it is a fire fighting operation now, Pardew, Big Sam, Roy, Warnock, Pulis, Basically anyone who can pick a team that's suits the players, not vice-Versa even give Ward a go, Jedinak, a change is needed before its to late

4-4-2, 4-3-3 or 4-4-1-1 would all be much better formations for this team. Given our lack of wide players I’d go for 4-3-3.

Henderson
Munoz - Guhei - Lacroix - Mitchell
Wharton - Lerma - Doucore
Eze - Mateta - Sarr

That assumes everyone is fit but Hughes, Chalobah and Richards could fill places in the midfield three. We lack any depth in attack but that is true whatever system we play

It was only recently that supporters were lauding the win against Tottenham and following the away draw at Wolves there was a mood of optimism.
An expected defeat against Fulham has once again re-ignited the debate regarding the tenure of the manager.

Thats better than what Glasner picks

So we head into the international break in the relegation places with a quarter of the season gone. We have the joint lowest wins. Second lowest goals scored with 8 goals (8!) in 11 games. We are behind the might of clubs like Ipswich and Leicester. We now have a run of fixtures where we play teams in the top half of the table having totally squandered a very generous early season fixture list.

In short yes OG is a problem.

Has Glasner been promised no interference from a Director of Football? Because you might surely expect a word. You wonder when this going to come to a head because, in my mind, I see Glasner walking at some stage pretty soon.

This is the formation any flexible manager would play to get the best of what, when all fit
---------------Henderson------------
Muñoz---Lacroix---Guehi---Mitchell
---Wharton--Doucoure--Lerma-----
-----------------Eze------------------
-------Mateta--------Nketiah--------

At the moment, for the next game

--------------Henderson-------------
Munñoz---Lacroix--Guehi---Mitchell
----Hughes--Doucoure--Devenny---
----------------Sarr-------------------
-------Mateta-------Umolu-----------
Glasner won't change formation so it's usual 3 until he goes

We can only hope
Harsh. I am a big fan of Glasner and think he has been let down big time. For example LaCroix had stated he was going to join but we did not sign him until virtually the last day of transfer window, Chalobah was a last minute deal as was Sarr.
No Pre season with these players. No cover at LWB and no left footed right winger. Unfortunately we will lose Glasner and continue to have SP making the decisions

That cut ice 4 games in. Not 11 games in. Stubbornly playing a formation that isn’t working. Refusing to alter tactics depending on player availability and opposition. Continually selecting a player who is woefully out of his depth. Those are all on OG
