Is Glasner the problem?

He might not be all of the problem but he clearly isn’t the solution either. For whatever reasons there was clearly a breakdown in the summer between what he wanted in terms of players and what he got. It’s now too late to give him the players he wants so I think we have to bring in somebody who can get something more from the players we have. That is clearly very harsh on OG but we are where we are and that is being in desperate trouble. Something has got to change
Have a look at it at Christmas and if things don't look good then maybe bring in someone like moyes

You have to remember that Glasner has never been at a decent club as manager for more than two years, as i have said before he is a one trick pony, but his trick is good if we have the right players for his system, its not who we sold, its who we bought, and in his formation Nketiah, Sarr and Kamada seems money down the drain, so whoever is responsible for the buys is at fault, Nketiah and Sarr maybe good in a 442, but unfortunately we will never know while Glasner is at the helm.

Glasner will get things right, he's a good manager with a horrendous injury list plus he needs players brought in to suit his style.
Parish and Freedman need to get their backsides into gear with the scouting people and find at least two proven players.
A word with Glasner to find out who he needs and wants might bloody help and with a bit of a kick in the arse for the players we have here, we might be able to turn this shambles around.
Glasner needs to stay put.

Glasner recommended Kamada.

I guess I was just thinking about the player choices. I imagine Glasner was hoping for more from kamada, mateta and sarr. As was I!

The board has let Glasner down with the players brought in.
With the exception of lacroix the rest are substandard.
However he seems to be no different than Hodgson in that his team is set up the same every game.
I personally think our defence is stronger than last year, however in a back 4 not 3.
We seem to lose in the midfield every game, (i know at the moment this is because of injuries) however a fit Wharton , Doucoure, Lerma , Hughes & now Devenney would boss Midfield.
Up Front we are extremely weak. Eze holds onto the ball too long as he has no options, Ntekiah/Sarr/Kamada/Schlupp are woeful. Mateta holds the ball up well & if he received the ball in the box would score a hat full of goals. Olise was the service. Why we loaned out Rak Saki I do not know. He is head & shoulders over Sarr.
We have no width or speed up front, which as Palace are a weaker team in the division would at least provide an outlet & has served us well before.
Not sure if we will survive this Season as only Southampton, Ipswich , Leicester look as weak as us.
We should be on a par with Fulham & looking at their squad yesterday we are far from it.
The positive is we have been in every match this season & have not been thrashed, so let’s hope for a bit of luck & the returning players will change things.
I for one hope Kamada is banned for the rest of the season!

Wharton's return will be key.
He's arguably our most important player, being the guy who links all facets of our game, particularly in our attack.

The thing is before he returns to form and fitness the board may already have made a decision on Glasner.
The fixture list over the next games looks unforgiving with Villa, Newcastle, Brighton, Arsenal and City to face.
Ipswich provides the only respite.
We can't keep clean sheets or score enough goals and that only ends one way.

This is the formation any flexible manager would play to get the best of what, when all fit
---------------Henderson------------
Muñoz---Lacroix---Guehi---Mitchell
---Wharton--Doucoure--Lerma-----
-----------------Eze------------------
-------Mateta--------Nketiah--------

At the moment, for the next game

Munñoz---Lacroix--Guehi---Mitchell
----Hughes--Doucoure--Devenny---

I think we had the same problem with Glasner as we have had since the start of the season. He’s a one trick pony regarding formation and will play the same way whichever 11 he puts out. It worked (just) in the 3 games before yesterday but against Fulham he again had an unbalanced team. A lot down to injuries I know, but if he had done a Hodgson and played a more defensive team with players in rightful positions we may have got a result. Glasner just started with players out of position and again in the 2nd half moved them around which again didn’t suit them. He really should have had Sarr on the right and Kamada on the left. Both were moved around with just Sarr looking better on the right and then he took him off. Terrible management yesterday but in fairness it was always going to be hard with the players available against a much stronger organised team. Glasner screwed up again by not putting out a more balanced 11 with those available to him :-(

We are down to the bare bones especially in the midfield area. To sack Glasner during this period would be a major setback in my opinion. I’m certain he’s a decent manager. I’ve enjoyed the style of play and feel we’ve been extremely unlucky during some of our games. However, Parish is very trigger happy and tends to make his move far too early so I’m worried for Glasner.

Who provides the width in your system as Mitchell and Munoz won't be getting forward as much?

It’s difficult but equally leave it too long and it will be too late. There just won’t be enough points left to play for. OG has a win ratio of 40% with us but sub 10% without Olise in the team. He’s undoubtedly a decent manager but he hasn’t shown he’s the right manager to get the best out of this squad

Let's allow him one f*** up .

I agree. However if he persists with Kamada like he has done so far, it will contribute to him getting the sack. The games just far too quick for Kamada currently. I’m all for supporting your players, particularly one that’s done the business for you at another club but jeez, the poor fella is miles off it at the moment.

Is Glasner the problem? No, not in my view. The problem has been poor Summer recruitment allied to a spate of injuries and no rest or pre-season for our key players.

Glasner will turn things round if he is given the chance and I believe Parish will give him that chance. Just my view.
Worth noting 2 of those signings were Glasner recommendations plus Sarr is played on the left and looks better on the right. Even Kamada would look better on the left in my opinion. We had a situation recently where Schlupp was on the right with Munoz on the left. What was that all about?

Easy to criticize the manager and he has not done enough to suggest he is a winner in the Prem. The recruitment has left us with a squad that is below the quality to be comfortably mid table and even a new manager will face the same issues of us not being competitive in the transfer market and not supporting the manager with a decent squad. Kamada is a black mark for Glasner and we should move him out on loan to a European club in January. Continued lack of proper player investment will keep us in the relegation zone whether its Glassner or someone else.
