Is Glasner the problem?

Glasner is a one trick pony, but it is a good trick if everyone is playing in the right position, Sarr and Kamada are wasted money, I assumed when we bought Nketiah he would play upfront with Mateta, but no, we needed a left footed attacker, so all the aforementioned players are a waste of money, we would have been better off keeping JRS and Edouard, and spent all of them 3 on one player
Rak-Saki was told by Glasner he will play a big part for us this season. His response was unless I'm a starter I'd prefer a season long loan at Sheffield United. I remember when reading about it (and later being told) what a disappointing lack of self belief that showed.
Rak-Saki din't back himself to force his way into Palace's team without and guarantees.

Sarr's speed alone should ensure that he is an asset to us. I was thrilled to see him overtake Van de Ven in a sprint yesterday. I'm not sure any of our other players can do that.

I don't see Eddie as a replacement for Mateta and I'm not sure he was signed for that reason. But Palace can't spend £25m on a squad player hence my writing that Glasner somehow has to make the transfer work.
I expect you are right. Unfortunately a squad player is exactly what Nketiah looks like and what he has looked like for his whole career. I can’t fault his effort but he just hasn’t looked very good so far. Based on his showings I am not really sure what he does particularly well as a forward. Doesn’t hold the ball up, doesn’t link play, doesn’t cause problems physically, finishing is not great. He’s quite quick but not the sort of pace that gives Premier League defenders problems. As I say he has tried hard so I hope he hits a purple patch and gets going but he hasn’t done that yet in his career anywhere so far.

I dunno, kicking his heals on the bench over regular starts? He listened to advice and made a decision.

You can also put your point another way. If he does not excel at the Blades, that is his level.

stat ahead of today's game

  • Only six teams have mustered more shots in the Premier League this season than Palace’s 115, but they are the division’s lowest scorers with five goals
would indicate a very obvious problem

I remember under Vieira we had consecutive games without taking a shot
Seriously? Or do you mean they didn't get one on target
We take a high proportion from long range

If this is true, then I'm surprised we didn't accept Southampton's offer. He is 22 and has only proven himself in League 1

I read it the other way. He knows how important games are to his development and better off getting a full season under the belt.

I haven't read this thread, but I feel like Glaser is taking a long time to figure what we all knew already.

Kamada is not working.
Hughes is the best option in midfield, along with Wharton when Doucoure is unavailable.
Our wing backs can't cross the ball. They need to give it to those that can.

The problem is lack of goals. Our finishing is poor, so we need to create a lot of chances. Defensively, we are fine. No team keeps clean sheets all the time.

I think Glasner can move us forward if we can get through this difficult patch, but he needs to learn quicker.
A couple of signings in January would help. Our options are too few.

The goal on Sunday came from a Munoz cross.
