Is Glasner the problem?

It is the model of possibility that his words have been misinterpreted and conclusions drawn which are not wholly accurate.
They are direct quotes over a number of sentences and a range of issues.
There is not much room for misinterpretation.
There could be an argument that Glasner's observations have some validity, but that's a different matter.

The messaging has convinced some that Glasner was being critical of the club but it is possible that he was merely stating the facts and offering an explanation as to the challenges he has faced with players arriving late in the 'Window'.
Recruitment of players can be a protracted process, often riddled with disappointment and frustration accordingly 'Targets' might not be snared as promptly as one would like.

I suspect Glasner's messaging will have been heard by those in positions of influence at the club prior to the broadcast and they will know his mindset with no misinterpretation at all.

I agree. When Parish interviewed Glasner for the job, he (Parish) must have known that Glasner was his own man, with his own set ideas, proven successful, and the type of manager Parish wanted.

I said this when we signed him, he is not afraid to walk out of a job.

We will see today, but if he persists with the same tactics and odd team selection then I suspect he is managing his exit from the club with the excuse that the club has let him down with players.

When OG arrived....
"At Wolfsburg in May 2021, despite success, the Austrian departed because he felt it was difficult to take the club forward with the level of investment that summer and it was similar when he left Eintracht Frankfurt last summer."

They may well be aware of Glasner's feelings in relation to the window, but whether they wanted them made public is another matter because the comments are critical of the club and the window

What is gained from the comments?
They are being used by Glasner as excuses/reasons (depending upon your view) for the poor performances this season.

Of course you are entitled to your view that the club were aware of the comments and were presumably content for them to be made, but personally I can't see that.

For avoidance of doubt, I was not suggesting that the club were aware of the specifics of the Glasner message to the media and were content for them to be aired.

I was merely offering the suggestion that the hierarchy will not be misinterpreting the contents due to the fact that they are in contact with Glasner on a regular basis. They will know if it criticism aimed at the club or not.

On that note, I have just got 'Togged up' and need to depart to a stadium somewhere in South London !

stat ahead of today's game

  • Only six teams have mustered more shots in the Premier League this season than Palace’s 115, but they are the division’s lowest scorers with five goals
would indicate a very obvious problem

I remember under Vieira we had consecutive games without taking a shot

Is it Togged up or Togged out .

I have no issue with Glasner stating his views on our summer transfer window. However, he needs to own the fact that the worst transfer of the lot (so far) was his personal pick. He also needs to own that he has stubbornly refused to adapt formation and tactics to what we have not what he’d like. Plenty in his control that he could have done and hasn’t.

We have had no luck, apart from ManUre not scoring more.
If one or two of our shots go in, if we had a pen or sending off in our favour, etc etc.
Maybe today? It's Spurs, so almost certainly not.

stay of execution for Glasner, let's see what happens in our next 3 games
OK Nero, if we lose our next three you'll give him the thumbs down will you? We'll beat Villa, draw with Wolves (or lose narrowly) and beat Fulham (or draw), but we'll have got at least the four points he needed from the games b4 the break. Is Glasner the problem? Obviously not - the players played for him today, and at Forest despite what some posters think. Time for the doubters to put their toys back in their prams. COYP!

We mustn't get too excited, spurs blow hot and cold, SP is ruthless so we need to keep it up and be consistent. Villa will be tough, a draw and a win from our next league games should keep everyone happy.
Onwards n upwards
