It’s not helping anyone at all. It’s just hot air. All the criticism being resurrected is historical, has been analysed by lengthy, expensive enquiries and new strategies put in place as a consequence.

I did not see any real.action from.any party left or right for many years.

This is an awful period in our history and the perpetrators must be punished but investigation into something like this takes a long time and this was the case here.

I am not making any excuses for anyone who was either complicit in this or turned a blind eye they deserve to be investigated and punished it to brand every over worked civil servant or police officer as somehow part of this is wrong.

Sadly no amount of investigation can give back what was taken from all involved and in that I include the victims, those who did try to speak out and the communities destroyed by the actions of some of their members.

Emotive supposition does not help. I have worked with plenty of people on the police and authorities who are just as disgusted by this and everyone else but someone any investigation is ni gh on impossible when met with a wall of silence

Totally agree. A proper investigation is long overdue. But as we all know re tweet something such as burn a building where asylum seekers are you get 2 years prison. Rape a minor in the greater Manchester area and... " nothing to see here." An article in the Telegraph yesterday made me feel sick.

- an inside contact within the Care community ?

That the early response was shown to be ineffective is an established fact. The lengthy enquiries established new and better methods for which additional resources have been provided. That this has already happened is the reason why this current hot air is so fake. It’s just political.

an Indian friend told me its been happening over there for at least a thousand years. The systematic wholesale Targeting of Hindu & Sikh girls.

England was not the first, and will probably not be the last, to suffer this onslaught.

We have had several which recognised that the previous strategy had not worked and resulted in the creation of a specialist unit. That hindsight has determined failures does not mean that those responsible for the mistaken tactics did so maliciously. Enquiries into the police officers resulted in only one being disciplined.

What we are now witnessing is a witch-hunt. Not a genuine desire to see justice for the victims. If extensive enquiries have already taken place why on earth use time and resources to do it again? Those resources are better directed to helping detect and bring the actual criminals to justice.

Which it won’t by attacking those trying to end it.

Ensuring that anyone contemplating behaving this way know they will be found and punished is the way to end it.

That demands a multi faceted approach which includes building up the trust of local communities, educating all young people to understand and respect our values, alongside effective policing.

Allowing American megalomaniacs to wind people up isn’t part of that approach.
