Grooming gangs

Nothing to do with disagreeing with people's views - respect and enjoy different opinions.
I don't enjoy that man defending grooming gangs and sticking up for those who did it and not wanting to investigate.
Reprehensible, vile, shameful - and that is him - not the grooming gangs - yuk!
Total and absolute nonsense that you ought to be embarrassed to write because it demonstrates a complete lack of understanding.

At no time have I, or will I, defend these criminals. They need to be detected and successfully prosecuted as effectively as possible with punishments that deter others from even contemplating imitation.

I want to see proper resources provided to those we ask to do that job and for the environment in which they do it to be managed in a way that produces the maximum amount of cooperation.

Elon Musk, Kemi Badenoch or the Mail, blowing hot air in your ear to get you wound up, again, isn’t going to help in any way at all.

Yes, keep him on here. He should be free to express opinions.

Fortunately, I am free to put him on ignore and I suggest others do likewise.

His noise needs to be drowned out by the increasing volume of realism. His kind of deluded idealistic claptrap has done far too much damage already.

The last thing any of my comments on this issue, whenever it surfaces here as it does regularly, do is try to defend the criminals responsible. Of course they should be stopped and punished.

That’s not the point and never has been. It’s stating the obvious.

The only question is how best we can detect them and gather sufficient evidence to see successful prosecutions. That is extremely easy to demand but much harder to achieve, especially if you are a police force operating with your resources constantly being reduced.

So why has it been raised again? Has there been some kind of breakthrough that will enable the tortuous task of bringing these people to justice proceed quicker? Or have politicians, and wanna be politicians decided to blow hot air over it again in order to wind up those they think support them.

For me it’s just more evidence of populist politics doing a disservice to our democracy. It won’t help bring anyone to justice but could, again, divert police resources to deal with it, thus actually delaying justice.

The next thing we will hear is Musk calling for the release of all those jailed after the summer riots and for the restoration of hanging as a punishment for both murder and rape. Both would be popular with a certain sub section of society.
Your answer to the question has been do f-all. You bang on about the police 'silently' investigating. They did nothing silently or loudly, they did nothing, apart from harass those making the reports to them. Your weasel words are a disgrace.

Should include failure to maintain gas appliances?

What I actually said was “quietly”! Maybe you think that means the same as silently. That would be typical of the quality of your contributions here.

Quietly means without making a fuss, without drawing attention or seeking publicity. Except, of course, in those situations where to do so aids their efforts.

Unless you are currently inside the police forces investigating you have no idea at all what they are now doing. They won’t tell you, or the media, unless they see a need to. Their investigations are intended to bring these criminals to justice. Not to provide headlines for the Daily Mail or satisfy the prejudices of those they wind up.

There is well organised oversight of police performance via, for instance, Police and Crime Commissioners. Perhaps we should allow them to do their jobs and any concerns you have, or suggestions for improvement, would be more appropriately addressed to them than in posting ignorant comments on a football forum.

Of course, we shouldn’t ‘make a fuss’ about the gang-rape of children, should we? Well, not if the perpetrators are of a protected religion. More of your fairies at the bottom of the garden carrying out mysterious and invisible work that brings people to justice. The Police and Crime Commissioners are an expensive farce who serve no purpose whatsoever and should be abolished.

Making a fuss is all that Musk and Badenoch are now doing. It’s not helping anyone. Not the victims, or the police trying to put the criminals inside. Policing in the UK is done by consent and is much more effective when carried out quietly. The time for a fuss is when the job has been done, and that’s not yet.

Musk has some kind of obsession with Starmer and all his recent nonsense seems motivated by his dislike of him. That people here are responding to it as he wants them to is really pathetic.

This activity has nothing to do with any genuine concern for the victims of criminal rape gangs! It’s all about Musk, and Badenoch using it to deflect a spat.

Not helping anyone? It’s helping attempts to bring to justice those who deliberately ignored and thus facilitated the mass rape of children by predominately men of Pakistani heritage in several towns in this country. Policing in some aspects is done by, often grudging, consent. Quietly or loudly, it needs to actually happen; in none of your posts have you addressed the fact that not only did it not happen, those reporting the crimes were actually quietly warned off themselves. One or two concerned police officers feared dismissal, others admitted to inaction due to fears of accusations of racism. You say the time for a fuss is when the job has been done and that’s not yet. When is ‘yet’ then? Men of predominately Pakistani heritage have been tried and imprisoned, some have already served lenient sentences and are back ‘enriching’ their communities. Of course, the calls for a proper enquiry and investigation of the machinations of the Crown Prosecution Service under Starmer, and the police, social workers and local authorities, need to be fully exposed. The Left still trying to cover up and trivialize this national scandal is contemptible – they care more about, and will defend at all costs, their favourite cherished minorities rather than the victims of rape - they are morally bankrupt.

Quietly?

You don’t have to be a PR expert to know that the obvious thing to do is to set up an inquiry.
It will take about 2 -3 years and tell us what we know already from the existing reports.
Police and social services were negligent in failing to investigate and act and political correctness was the main factor.
What’s is it going to achieve? Is some retired chief superintendent or chief constable or ex head of social services going to be prosecuted? No because nothing happened when the damming 2014 report came out.
Grenfell, Post Office, etc and loads before them. Cost millions of pounds and nothing happens.
The women who wrote the last report has been complaining that the tories failed to implement her recommendations so why Musk thinks this is all about labour shows how little he actually knows about the UK. All parties will come in for blame. Rochdale was A Liberal stronghold.
Hold an inquiry, take the evidence and publish the findings.

People have been imprisoned for making comments online about the summer disorders, will we see people imprisoned for making comments about the rapes?

It’s not helping anyone at all. It’s just hot air. All the criticism being resurrected is historical, has been analysed by lengthy, expensive enquiries and new strategies put in place as a consequence.

It serves no one except those blowing the hot air. It’s entirely false. It’s political. You even join in with your really pathetic suggestions about the “left”!
