Grooming gangs

Sounds so simple doesn’t it? Maybe you should send your ideas to the Home Office, I bet they haven’t thought of that.

It’s detecting the perpetrators and gathering sufficient evidence to satisfy the CPS that’s challenging. Not arresting them.
Maybe a dna test would prove underage sex. Just a thought but oh hang on… plod didn’t take samples for some reason.
One wonders why !

So not reporting child abuse will become a crime. I suppose double jeopardy won’t count as guaranteed many Muslim families knew this was happening.
Wait for the small print and proving this will be virtually impossible.

I find it nauseous to read the posts emanating from the west so am going to use the Ignore Button and would recommend other do the same, we should not feed Trolls.

Oh - and Wisbech - some of your comments have no place on this or any other forum and I would ask that you are banned from this site immediately.
I would like to second this, we should only have to put up with so much, he's crossed the line. Posters in the past have been red carded for causing far less offence.

Who has less trust at the moment? The community of the victims or the perpetrators?
I heard a representative of the survivors organisation being interviewed earlier this evening and she was forthright in her view that the victims were not being served by this outburst by Musk and the local politicians who have exploited it. She wants the recommendations acted upon.

If you mean trying to identify the perpetrator via a DNA test that requires there to be reliable samples. A few hairs etc won’t be enough to prove sexual activity. It might be possible in some cases but must be very hard to gather.

So it's a community of one person then.

Hard to gather samples from a rape victim. It is mandatory in most cases unless it was a gang of peodo rapists you don’t want to upset too much.
Ffs when will you wake up to the truth.

Absolute nonsense.

No community is “protected”! Some produce greater challenges than others.

Perhaps it has escaped your attention that policing in the UK is by consent. We don’t operate a police state in which we control the population through fear. We need their cooperation and involvement. To do that we need to build trust. Not distrust and suspicion. Which is what, unfortunately, exists in some places and isn’t helped by some of the attitudes on display here.

You might want us to have a police state, but we don’t. We need to meet those challenges, which isn’t easy.
We are as near to controlling the population through fear, as we have ever been in my lifetime. Arresting people for naughty words for starters, oh sorry only if you are “far right”.

Why would it be hard to gather? If victims were told not to report or persue it? DNA samples taken from one victim in 2008, who had the bravery to go to police. 2009 case was dropped “as not a reliable witness “ who was DPP that dropped the case? 🤔

I suspect they shouted "Shame" because the report was published last year; the Tories implemented none of it; they are now - in one of the most insidious examples of hypocrisy and duplicity in recent times - seeking to weaponize the issue by criticizing Labour (and implying "pro paedo") for not carrying through those very same recommendations.

The irony is that, unlike the Tories, Labour were seeking to implement the recommendations and continue to do so (albeit, I have little doubt, in an inept way that somehow manages to be both over-sensitive and clumsy). All they are resisting is another can-kicking enquiry that covers the same ground as the enquiry whose recommendations the Tories ignored.

I would like to dismiss this as barrel scraping politics but, given the subject matter, it is a lot worse than that. And Farage and Musk's interventions are not only intentionally misleading with an end justifies the means purpose, but downright dangerous given some of the gullible nutters who naively believe them (like some posters on here) but have access to firearms.
